An early red card in the affair between Leicester City and Oxford United spawned split opinions on social media.
Leicester City were predicted to beat Oxford United, but the clash proved to be anything but an easy afternoon for Marti Cifuentes’ side.
Oxford took an early lead against the Foxes courtesy of a ninth-minute strike from Tottenham loanee Will Lankshear, but their lead was short-lived after an equaliser from Leicester forward Jordan Ayew.
An unfortunate own-goal from Boubakary Soumaré beat Jakub Stolarczyk to put the hosts back in front on the stroke of half-time before Ricardo Pereira’s strike on 55 minutes brought it back to 2-2.
The main talking point from the draw was Burnley loanee Aaron Ramsey’s red card after a heavy challenge on Oxford midfielder Filip Krastev, which led to a severe difference of opinions among the Foxes fanbase.

Leicester City fans debate Aaron Ramsey’s red card vs Oxford United
English midfielder Ramsey was signed by the Foxes on loan from now-Premier League Burnley on deadline day, but his Leicester debut was one to forget.
Oxford’s lead was restored following Ramsey’s dismissal, and the 10-man Foxes failed to get a foothold in the affair as a result before Pereira’s goal settled the clash.
Ramsey’s full-blooded challenge on Krastev, which resulted in his instant dismissal by referee Ben Toner, led to a difference of opinion among Foxes fans on social media.
In defence of Ramsey, one Leicester fan said: “Wasn’t a red”, as another questioned: “How’s that a red?”.
One Leicester fan argued: “How was that a red he won the ball”, as one more posted: “That’s not a red”.
However, some of the Foxes faithful disagreed, feeling that Ramsey left the referee no choice but to brandish the red card.
“Can’t complain whatsoever. Awful.”, said one Leicester fan as another posted: “Terminate his loan. Will cost us this season. 50 senior games in 3 years says a lot. Not the quality of player we need. Get him gone.”
One fan posted: “First game in a Leicester shirt throwing tackles around like that, hope he never gets to wear the shirt again”.
Another Foxes fan said: “He can keep walking back to Burnley”.
During the game, one Sky Sports pundit issued their verdict on the much-debated dismissal.

Mike Dean shares verdict on Aaron Ramsey’s red card
Football is a game of opinions, and footballing refereeing royalty Mike Dean offered his on punditry duty for Sky Sports, outlining why he believes it was the correct decision to send Ramsey off.
Sky Sports pundit Sue Smith said: “There’s not many complaints from Ramsey when the referee shows him the red card.
Former Premier League referee Dean replied: “I’ve had a couple of looks at it, he’s lost the ball, he’s gone in to make a challenge for the ball but he’s nowhere near the ball.
“He’s scissor challenged the guy (Filip Krastev), he’s caught him high, it’s not the best of challenges.
“The ball is nowhere near to be played and when he gets the red card he doesn’t even complain to the referee, I think he knows what’s coming and it’s a definite sending off for me.”
Sky Sports’ poll on the matter saw over 60 percent of voters believe it was the correct decision to send Ramsey off for the challenge.
Given the Burnley loanee’s reaction and the motion of his challenge, truthfully, Ramsey can have little to complain about regarding his dismissal on his short-lived Foxes debut.
