Stoke City have made a fine start to this Championship campaign under Mark Robins, as he has them occupying second in the division ahead of their fixture with Norwich City.

Potters star Lamine Cisse believes that one reason behind their fine start is World Cup winner Steven N’Nzonzi’s impact under Robins.

However, the Stoke City manager was incredibly disappointed with his side’s defeat to QPR last Saturday, with Robins scathing in his assessment of the Potters.

The Potters’ manager may look at this weekend as the perfect opportunity to get their campaign back on track; although, Stoke will have to overcome not only Norwich but also their recent record against the Canaries.

Mark Robins has managed to defy expectations this season with Stoke City, with many believing the Potters may have once again been involved in a relegation battle.

However, they find themselves currently battling with clubs for promotion from the Championship, and Robins will look to defy expectations once again by ending their poor record against the Canaries.

The Potters have not managed to defeat Norwich City in any of their previous nine fixtures, with their last victory coming in October 2018, in their first Championship campaign following relegation from the Premier League the season prior.

Across the nine games that they have not managed to secure a win against Norwich, they have lost six and drawn three, with Robins now the sixth different permanent manager since Gary Rowett earned that 1-0 win seven years ago.

Norwich City’s recent away record makes a Stoke City victory difficult to envisage

The odds appear to be stacked against Stoke City ahead of this weekend’s fixture with the Canaries, meaning they could suffer consecutive Championship defeats.

Norwich may have struggled at home this campaign, as they have lost all their fixtures at Carrow Road; however, they are unbeaten across all their away games this Championship season.

While the Canaries may also turn to their fine away record against Stoke in recent seasons as a confidence builder, as they have gone unbeaten in their last five visits, winning two and drawing three of those matches.

Mark Robins must inspire his Stoke squad to overcome history and a Canaries side that are unbeaten on the road to return them to winning ways and end this poor record against Norwich.
