Marti Cifuentes was quick to praise the commendable efforts of Sheffield Wednesday despite earning his first win as Leicester City manager.
The Foxes came from behind to beat Wednesday as Wout Faes’ 87th minute winner ensured it would be a winning start for Cifuentes.
Nathaniel Chalobah’s first-half opener for the Owls left the Leicester faithful booing at the break only for Jannik Vestergaard and Faes to save the day.
Harry Winks starred for the hosts but even Cifuentes felt that one Wednesday player deserved his flowers.

Marti Cifuentes singles out Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper
If it wasn’t for Pierce Charles it could’ve been a very different day for the Owls.
Charles, who is reportedly admired by Leicester, made 11 saves in total and the Foxes boss felt he was the best player on the park, ahead of Winks.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the Catalonian said: “Winks is a strong player and he did really well for the team.
“In my opinion, their goalkeeper was the best player and that shows that maybe we could have scored more goals.”
Watched on by his brother Shea from the away end, it was another day that Charles can look back on with pride.
Leicester City finally showed some fight
Had that game been last season, the Foxes would’ve rolled over and had their bellies tickled.
A lack of fight was apparent all season as they were relegated from the Premier League without a whimper.
This time though, when the going got tough, they fought back and were able to secure an important win.
Sure, it was only match day one, but with some high profile sides already dropping points, getting a head start is always crucial.
