Sheffield Wednesday set £8m asking price on Pierce Charles
Pierce Charles will take on the responsibility of being the Owls’ number one goalkeeper this season after coming through the ranks at the club in recent years.

At just 20, it will come as no surprise to see the Sheffield Wednesday shot-stopper the subject of interest from Premier League clubs in the past, and now the South Yorkshire outfit have put a significant price-tag on him.
Alan Nixon has reported that it would take £8m to take the young goalkeeper away from Hillsborough this summer. He said: “Keeper Pierce Charles is for sale at Sheffield Wednesday – but the asking price is around £8m.
“The young shot-stopper is fancied by several clubs including Leicester, Southampton and Rangers. However, despite Wednesday’s financial problems – and the EFL hinting at the need for player sales – the valuation is sky high.”

Pierce Charles is crucial to the Owls’ season
With a very limited squad for the new season, Charles’ importance has grown exponentially over the course of the summer and supporters will be keen to see him stay on at Hillsborough.
He made eight Championship appearances for Sheffield Wednesday in 2024/25, conceding 10 goals and failing to keep a clean sheet.

However, as the Owls’ number one, he will be crucial as Pedersen looks to keep the club in the Championship despite the odds being against the team from the off.
Yet, if Chansiri stays on, £8m would help keep Wednesday going for a few more months and those at the top may have their hand forced if another club does make a substantial offer for Charles.
