Former Sheffield Wednesday coach Chris Powell has spoken out about a multitude of issues surrounding Dejphon Chansiri, including the poor communication at the club.
Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has been blamed for several issues currently facing the club, following a severely damaging summer period in S6.
The first team has been torn apart, whilst Danny Rohl has departed Sheffield Wednesday, with Henrik Pedersen stepping into the fray.
Chris Powell also left Sheffield Wednesday after his contract at the club expired, and following his departure, he has set the record straight regarding Chansiri’s current ownership of the club.
Powell has hit out at Chansiri’s ‘bizarre’ handling of transfers, whilst also pleading for the EFL to help Sheffield Wednesday.
Communication has also been a core issue at Sheffield Wednesday, something that Powell has summed up brilliantly.

What Chris Powell said about communication problems at Sheffield Wednesday
Chris Powell has been interviewed on The Sports Agents podcast, where he took a deep dive into the issues at Sheffield Wednesday that have affected players, staff and fans. The former Owls coach continuously points the finger at Dejphon Chansiri for the problems, whom he did not meet once during his time at the club.
Powell also spoke about the lack of a hierarchy at Sheffield Wednesday, as well as the flawed communications system.
“We brought in a consultant for head of recruitment, a really good guy who helped out Danny and the coaching staff really well. But there’s no board of directors,” Powell said. “So, the club is run by the owner, Chansiri, and there’s a consultant who’s sort of his link and club secretary. That’s it.
“There’s no one to ring. There’s no one to speak to. Now, it all falls on the shoulders of maybe the club secretary, and that’s very difficult for her.
“I mean, basically, people will get an email saying, ‘We know times are hard. It’s very difficult. We’re trying to resolve the situation.’ But that’s it.”

Dejphon Chansiri has shown very little humility during club issues
Sheffield Wednesday have been plagued with issues across the summer, but the section of people who have been the most significantly affected have been the staff, those who have no guarantees that they will be paid for the upcoming month.
The players and coaching staff have shown plenty of sympathy for the other workers at the club, but they have received nothing of that nature from the man whose responsibility it should be.
Aside from generic apologies, Sheffield Wednesday staff have been left in the dark continuously, and they will be thankful for Chris Powell to raise such prominent concerns to the media in the hopes that the increased scrutiny on Chansiri can make a difference.
