Opta thinks there is a clear winner in West Brom vs Leicester City clash

West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City will meet in an all-Midlands clash on Friday night.

Both sides have failed to win a game since returning from the international break, although the Foxes haven’t lost.

Leicester have an excellent record at the Hawthorns and will back themselves to continue their 15-year unbeaten record in the Black Country, whereas Ryan Mason will be hoping he is the one to bring an end to the barren run.

But how do Opta see this one panning out?

West Brom predicted to finally beat Leicester City at the Hawthorns

According to Opta, this will be the time where West Brom finally taste victory against the Foxes.

Their supercomputer has given the Baggies a 41 per cent chance of winning in comparison to Leicester’s 31 per cent.

There is still a 26 per cent chance that the game finishes in a stalemate but a West Brom win would match the overall head-to-head record.

The Baggies have won 54 of the meetings compared to Leicester’s 43.

West Brom wins – 54
Draws – 23
Leicester wins – 43

Marti Cifuentes can show West Brom what they missed out on

In another world, Marti Cifuentes is preparing his West Brom side to face Leicester.

Following Tony Mowbray’s sacking, the Catalonian was linked with the job in the Black Country before West Brom opted not to appoint Cifuentes.

He now has a Leicester squad expected to be promoted and after draws against Oxford United and Coventry City, can recover and leave the Baggies wishing that they had taken the plunge after all.
