Abu Kamara was on the move again for the third transfer window in a row.
It looked touch and go at one point, but Kamara was able to seal a loan move to La Liga side Getafe, who have an option to buy in the summer.
Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic said that Kamara pushed for a summer move after seemingly falling out of favour at the MKM Stadium.
He was signed for just shy of £5m from Norwich City after impressing while on loan at Portsmouth in the 2023/24 campaign, where he won League One.
Now fully settled into his new life in Spain, the winger has revealed why he wanted to leave so desperately.

Abu Kamara reacts to Getafe move
After spending the first few days getting to grips with his new surroundings, Kamara admitted that the chance to rub shoulders with the likes of Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe was too good to turn down.
“La Liga is really appealing for me. This is a big opportunity for me and I thank the club for that,” he said.
“I chose Getafe because of the project that was presented to me by the sporting director and technical director. This is a challenge to step up to La Liga but I believe in myself.
“I expect to be part of a team that can produce exciting, counter-attacking football and give our all against whoever we come up against. My game is based on trying to be direct, trying to be positive and make things happen.”
Hull City hope to bank Abu Kamara pay day
The 22-year-old wants to impress in Spain, and Hull will be hoping he can do so also.
Acun Ilicali’s £14.5m cash injection highlights wider issues for the Tigers and any extra funds will no doubt be welcome news.
An EFL-imposed transfer ban prevents Hull from paying any fees for players, regardless of whether they are permanent deals or loans, and they will be keen to avoid a repeat.
If Kamara hits the ground running at Getafe, he may do enough to persuade them to part with a fee and give everyone a happy ending.
