Hull City have learned the fate of their three-window EFL transfer embargo appeal.
Hull City were given a three-window transfer ban by the EFL earlier in the summer transfer window, limiting the Tigers to loan signings and free agent acquisitions.
Despite those limitations, the Tigers have added some quality reinforcements for new boss Sergej Jakirovic.
Hull beat Swansea City to sign Oli McBurnie as a free agent, Joe Gelhardt has returned for a second season on loan from Leeds United and former Manchester United starlet Brandon Williams has joined Hull.
The Tigers have now been informed of the outcome regarding their appeal against the three-window transfer restriction.

Hull City’s appeal against EFL transfer ban reduced to two windows
Hull have been informed that their initial punishment of a three-window transfer fee restriction has been reduced to two windows, with the third suspended for 12 months pending any further rule breaches.
Under current fee restrictions, the EFL website’s embargoes section now reads: “Hull City: Until the end of the Summer 2026 Transfer Window”.
Therefore, Hull are now prohibited from paying any transfer or loan fees until next summer, which spells trouble for the mid-season window in the coming winter.
The transfer ban has thrust a spanner in the works of Hull’s summer business, as seen recently with Hull missing out on signing Cherif Ndiaye.
Following the news, Hull have released a defiant club statement in a defiant response to the appeal decision.

Hull City issue club statement after transfer window ban appeal
In typical Acun Illicali style, Hull issued an official response after the decision to reduce the ban from three windows to two.
A club statement on Hull’s website read: “Following our appeal to the Club Financial Review Panel, we have received confirmation that the three-window transfer fee restrictions imposed on us have been reduced to two windows, with the third window suspended.
“Our justification regarding the payment dates was not accepted by the panel.
“As we have demonstrated in recent weeks, we still remain able to sign players – either on loan or as free agents.
“We want to take this moment to sincerely thank all our fans for their unwavering support during these challenging times.
“Our unity and solidarity have shown the football world the strength of the Hull City family.
“CHALLENGES WILL NEVER BREAK US; THEY ONLY MAKE US STRONGER.”
Despite their negativity towards the decision, on the field, the Tigers are in impressive form, typified in their dramatic 3-2 win against Oxford United.
