Sergej Jakirovic is set to have one player return from injury, which could help transform his Hull City side.
Hull City have endured a positive start to the 2025/26 Championship season, having picked up four points in two games so far.
The opening Championship weekend saw Hull City hold Coventry City to a goalless draw, which has since been followed up by a brilliant 3-2 home win against Oxford United.
Oli McBurnie scored the winning goal against Oxford United and has already proved his quality after Hull City went all in this summer, fending off interest from fellow Championship clubs to attain the Scotsman.
It already appears that Hull City’s attack has been transformed by the signing of McBurnie, but things are set to get even better for the Tigers as they await the highly anticipated return of one star winger.

Mohamed Belloumi’s Hull City return will provide major boost to Sergej Jakirovic
As reported by Hull Daily Mail, it looks as though Mohamed Belloumi’s return from injury is ‘imminent’.
This would certainly be a massive boost for Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic, with the Algerian returning to the grass for the first time since November last year.
Whilst Hull fans have seen very little of Belloumi’s talents, he showcased brilliant ability in the 10 appearances he notched for the Tigers last season before he was struck down by injury, where he notched four goal contributions.
It is expected that Belloumi could also help elevate Oli McBurnie’s game, providing crosses into the box and creating chances for the Tigers’ talisman.

Sergej Jakirovic will be left with one predicament when Mohamed Belloumi returns
Whilst it will be a huge boost for Hull City to welcome back Mohamed Belloumi to the squad, Tigers boss Sergej Jakirovic will be left with a decision to make on who would make way for the Algerian.
The win against Oxford United saw both Joe Gelhardt and Joel Ndala shine, the former of which bagged a goal on his second home debut for the club. After a terrific performance from the pair, it will be difficult for Jakirovic to eventually drop one to make way for Belloumi.
It is expected that Belloumi will be reintroduced to the side from the bench, with it crucial that he is eased back into proceedings. His return will hopefully soon be followed up by Liam Miller coming back from injury, and then Jakirovic will have an abundance of choice for forwards, something that Hull City did not have at all last season.
