Sheffield Wednesday have officially confirmed the departure of Danny Rohl.
Rohl has left Wednesday by mutual consent just 12 days before the start of the 2025/26 season.
It’s the third major exit in less than a couple of weeks after Callum Paterson departed for MK Dons and Josh Windass joined Wrexham following his decision to terminate his contract.
As well as the 36-year-old, another name has departed Hillsborough and will arguably be the more upsetting for fans of the Owls.

Chris Powell also leaves Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent
Most Wednesday fans are glad the Rohl saga is over but it’s come at a cost as first-team coach Chris Powell has also departed.
A brief statement from the club on the official website confirmed his departure, along with other staff members Sascha Lense, Neil Thompson and Sal Bibbo.
Powell was appointed as an assistant to Wednesday in October 2023 and has been with the German ever since before deciding to go his separate ways.
The former Charlton Athletic manager didn’t return to pre-season training this summer along with his associate and is now available for work.
Championship clubs should be queuing around the block for Chris Powell
Despite the way it’s ended, Wednesday fans will look back on Rohl’s tenure with immense pride.
Having steered them away from Championship relegation in his first season, the 36-year-old also guided them to a mid-table finish last year.
Part of that success was Powell, who has a proven track record of improving players in a coaching capacity.
There are several clubs in the league that could benefit from his coaching ability and man-management.
He knows how to get the best out of players and will surely be a man in-demand.
