Birmingham City are looking to make German striker Marvin Ducksch their 11th signing of the summer transfer window.
The trajectory of Birmingham City continues to be positive after the Blues won the League One title in record-breaking fashion under Chris Davies.
The Blues have enjoyed an outstanding summer transfer window, seeing the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi and Tommy Doyle arrive at St Andrew’s.
Unfortunately for Birmingham, Ipswich have won the race for Chuba Akpom at the expense of their opponents on opening weekend.
Birmingham’s latest recruit is set to come in the form of Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch, and one Bundesliga expert has made an exciting claim about the incoming Blues signing.

Bundesliga expert makes exciting claim on Birmingham City’s Marvin Ducksch
On Tuesday, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed on X: “Marvin Ducksch to Birmingham is considered a done deal, even Tom Brady was pushing for him.
“Full agreement with Werder Bremen almost done. The contract runs until 2028. Bremen will receive €2 million for the 31 y/o striker and confirmed.”
After missing out on Akpom, it has placed further impetus on the Blues’ transfer team to sign another centre-forward this summer.
The Blues already have Jay Stansfield in attack, and with the arrival of Furuhashi, they possess two of the best strikers in the second tier.
Now, that could become three after Ducksch arrives, given one Bundesliga expert’s exciting claim about the forward.
Bundesliga commentator Kevin Hatchard said on X: Ducksch to BCFC is a great pick-up. Experienced striker who takes a quality set-piece, and played superbly alongside Füllkrug at Werder Bremen.
“Experienced and technically gifted. Certainly worth having as a depth option, if not a starter.”

Birmingham City boss Chris Davies comments on Marvin Ducksch
Ducksch and Akpom share similar physical profiles, and both forwards have years of goalscoring experience behind them.
Amid Ducksch’s imminent Blues move, Davies told Birmingham Live: “Marvin is a player I know well.
“He’s a very good player. I think the two strikers (Ducksch and Akpom) you’re talking about are similar in that sense, physical number nines as such.
| Statistic | Marvin Ducksch in 24/25 for Werder Bremen | Marvin Ducksch overall for Werder Bremen |
| Games played | 36 | 134 |
| Goals | 9 | 54 |
| Assists | 10 | 34 |
“Marvin, I can’t talk too much about because he belongs to another club, but we do want to add to our striking options.
“We’ve had Alfie May move on, Lukas Jutkiewicz has retired. We had four strikers competing there last season and we need a similar pool for this season.”
Ducksch outscored Akpom by a considerable margin last season, and although the Blues faithful will have been desperate to see the former Middlesbrough star sign, Ducksch should prove to be a real handful for Championship defences this season.
