Demarai Gray is unavailable for Jamaica’s upcoming international fixtures after suffering an injury against Leicester City, EFL Analysis understands.
The Birmingham City winger was left out of the club’s recent announcement on players who were featuring for their country this month. This was despite Gray being called up by Steve McClaren for the impending World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago.
Gray appeared to play through an injury against his former club on Friday night, as his side fell to a 2-0 defeat. He went down twice for treatment with just 25 minutes on the clock, struggling first with a dead leg and then a possible shoulder issue. The 29-year-old carried on, but played with his arm awkwardly by his side.
Now, EFL Analysis understands the Reggae Boyz favourite had been ruled out for this international break.

Demarai Gray suffering with shoulder issue
EFL Analysis understands it is Gray’s shoulder that has caused him to miss Jamaica’s upcoming qualifiers, with sources close to the Jamaica squad saying he’s not available.
His absence will be a big blow for McClaren’s side. He has made 27 appearances for them, scoring seven goals in that time.
The former Foxes ace was listed in his country’s call up announcement just five days ago, and there has been no official confirmation of his impending absence from either Jamaica or Birmingham at the time of writing.
Gray, who signed from Al-Ettifaq this summer to return to his boyhood club, has been a key cog in Chris Davies’ side already.
He has started in all five of his appearances so far, grabbing two assists. The 2016 Premier League winner has only missed one match, being rested for the 1-0 Carabao Cup loss to Port Vale.
Five other Birmingham City stars on international duty
While Gray will be getting back to fitness over the international break, five other Blues players will be in action elsewhere.
Willum Willumsson, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Paik Seung-Ho, Lyndon Dykes and Lewis Koumas will all be representing their countries this month.
The Blues are just behind Watford and Wrexham in terms of having the most players starring for their countries, with the latter two having six stars each.
All clubs will be hoping their players return fit for when the Championship resumes next week.
