Chris Davies has been heaping praise on one Birmingham City player amid their recent success.
The Blues suffered heartbreak at the end of the 2023/24 season when they were relegated to League One.
But Birmingham City spent just one season in the third tier, winning promotion to the Championship earlier this year.
Tom Brady has discussed Birmingham’s goals for the new season, with the long-term plan to take the club to the Premier League.
Now, manager Chris Davies has highlighted one star who has been instrumental to the club’s recent resurgence.

Chris Davies praises Birmingham City star
Across the 2024/25 summer and winter transfer windows, the Midlands outfit spent just over £30m on players.
Among the new arrivals was Jay Stansfield, whom Birmingham paid a League One record fee for.
Now, speaking on the Built in Birmingham: Brady & The Blues documentary, which aired on August 1, Davies has heaped praise on Stansfield.
He said: “Jay’s an amazing player who has played a big part in our success. He’s full of energy, so I love attacking players that play with that sort of heart and soul.
“And he’ll run and he’ll chase and he’ll do all that stuff for you. So, he’s very, very important for us.”

Jay Stansfield Birmingham City transfer wish
During his first season at St Andrew’s, Stansfield made 46 appearances across all competitions.
The 22-year-old scored 24 and assisted three, with 19 of his goals coming in League One.
Despite having a solid season, Stansfield wants Birmingham to spend big this summer so he is no longer their record signing, and some of the spotlight will be taken off him.
He said: “I hope we bring someone in who’s worth even more because that takes the weight off my back!
“It’s what happens in football, you get it everywhere. As a young player from last season, with not many people speaking about you, to all of a sudden it’s gone everywhere that a League One team has spent this much money.”
Birmingham have made 10 signings but none of them have cost more than the England U21 international.
