Demarai Gray isn’t playing football during the international break but he’s still keeping his eyes across the English Football League.

EFL Analysis revealed that Gray is not available for Jamaica’s two World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago this month after picking up an injury following a bright return at St Andrew’s.

The Birmingham City winger watched on as his country sealed a 4-0 win on Friday, with Hull City’s Kasey Palmer amongst the goals in the victory.

But while he will have loved watching the Reggae Boyz storming to victory, it was another EFL player that he made sure to praise on his social media over the weekend.

Demarai Gray loved Doncaster Rovers’ Jordan Gibson’s goal

Birmingham-born Jordan Gibson scored his first goal of the season for Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

He netted against his former club Bradford City in the Yorkshire derby, with Luke Molyneux and Billy Sharp getting on the scoresheet in the 3-1 victory too. He also assisted Molyneux’s strike.

Gray, also born in England’s second city, posted the clip of Gibson’s goal on his Instagram story.

“Standard procedure my guy,” he wrote underneath the video, along with a green tick emoji.

Since joining Doncaster last summer, Gibson has bagged seven goals for Rovers while also grabbing nine assists, as well as winning the League Two title.

Jordan Gibson says Bradford City fans ‘don’t learn’ after tough reception

When Gibson was substituted in the second half, he walked past the away end and past his old club’s supporters.

“I don’t mind [the tough reception],” he told BBC Sport Sheffield. “I like it. If they want to give me stick. I’ll happily take it.

“I knew I was going to get a bit today, it happens every time I play them, but they don’t learn. I thrive on that sort of thing, it gives me an extra five or 10 per cent.”

Gibson broke into the Bradford squad in 2017, but made 11 starts, appearing for six different managers.
