Frank Lampard has provided an update on Jack Rudoni after the midfielder missed Coventry City’s win against Birmingham City.

Coventry hammered Birmingham 3-0 to continue their unbeaten start to the season and move into the automatic promotion spots.

The star of the day was Victor Torp, who Lampard was full of praise for, but Rudoni’s absence will still be a concern for the Sky Blues.

After the win, the Coventry manager confirmed when the 24-year-old is expected to return.

Frank Lampard confirms Jack Rudoni injury blow

Rudoni played in the draw against Leicester City last weekend but was nowhere to be seen in the squad, and Lampard revealed that he would be out for “weeks” with a calf injury.

He told BBC Radio CWR: “He’s got a calf injury so will be out for some weeks. We can’t put a date on it at this point but it’s disappointing.

“The injury came from the Leicester game. He’s had a bad shoulder all week and hasn’t really trained, so we only found out at the back end of the week. It’s a big loss for us.”

Ephron Mason-Clark ready to return for Coventry City

While Rudoni will be a big loss, the Sky Blues will be able to count on the return of Ephron Mason-Clark sooner rather than later.

The Birmingham win came too quickly for the winger but the midweek game against Millwall could be when he returns.

“Ephron just wasn’t ready for the game today,” Lampard added. “He may be ready for Millwall but we’re not sure yet.”
