Brazil have two World Cup qualifiers on the horizon, and a former English Football League manager is helping them to prepare.
Plenty of Championship players are away on international duty this month, while Birmingham City’s Demarai Gray is having to sit out of Jamaica’s game after picking up an injury. For La Selecao, they face Chile and Bolivia as they work towards winning their first World Cup since 2002.
Former Championship player and Watford man Joao Pedro has been called up by Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti, as well as other familiar faces including Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison.
But there’s one other man heavily involved in Brazil’s national team set up that Derby County, Swansea City and Reading fans know well – and footage has now emerged of him in action.

Paul Clement is coaching Brazil ahead of World Cup qualifiers
Paul Clement is currently serving as Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant for the Brazil national team.
Reports emerged of his new role in July, and footage posted on X via TikTok this week shows him leading a training session with the South American side’s stars.
Giving instructions in mostly English, Clement is seen coaching La Selecao in the rain, prepping them for their upcoming clashes.
Running drills for Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Casemiro is a sharp contrast to the days of training up the Rams’ blasts from the pasts.
Clement arrived at Pride Park in 2015 and lost just once in 19 games from September to December and was considered a great appointment. However he was sacked in February after one win in seven, despite County sitting in fifth in the Championship.
Where else have Paul Clement and Carlo Ancelotti worked together?
Clement and Ancelotti previously worked together at Chelsea and Real Madrid, with the former EFL boss serving as assistant.
After being sacked by Derby in 2016, Clement briefly worked alongside Gareth Southgate for England’s Under-21s.
A spell at Bayern Munich as assistant manager followed, before he became Swansea and then Reading manager. Cercle Brugge is the last club he managed.
He then served as Everton assistant under former Derby manager Frank Lampard, leaving after his sacking. Reuniting with Ancelotti in his Brazil role is his first official appointment since his Goodison Park exit.
