Birmingham City have dominated League One this season, but there is still plenty for the Blues to play for.
Birmingham City wrapped up the League One title last weekend after Wrexham drew with Wigan Athletic.
24 hours later, the Midlands outfit were eyeing some silverware for the first time in over a decade.
However, Birmingham lost the EFL Trophy final in disappointing fashion to Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough United.
Following their promotion and loss to Peterborough, attention has begun to turn toward the summer, with Birmingham looking to smash their transfer record when the 2025 window opens up.
But there is still a very, very good chance that Tom Brady’s team can achieve even more success in the closing weeks of 2024/25.

When Birmingham City can break League One record
Birmingham have broken a League One record already this season, but the big one is still up for grabs.
After a 0-0 draw with Crawley Town last time out, Chris Davies’ side sit on 96 points from 41 games.
Owing to their cup commitments this season, Birmingham still have five fixtures to play out in the rest of 2024/25.
That means, on paper, they could still end the season with a total of 111 points if they secure wins in every remaining tie.
While that’s probably not on the cards, they do look certain to overtake Wolverhampton Wanderers for most points won in a single League One campaign.
Wolves achieved 103 in the 2013/14 season, meaning Birmingham need another seven to catch them and eight to set the record
As a result, the earliest they can overtake the Wanderers will be on April 27 when they are at home to Mansfield Town.

Most points in League One season and where Birmingham City rank
Aside from Wolves, a number of other teams have previously reached at least 100 points when competing in League One.
Plymouth Argyle, who could be back in the third tier come 2025/26, were the most recent side to do so.
| Team | Season | Points |
| Wolverhampton Wanderers | 2013/14 | 103 |
| Charlton Athletic | 2011/12 | 101 |
| Plymouth Argyle | 2022/23 | 101 |
| Sheffield United | 2016/17 | 100 |
Meanwhile, only four more teams have achieved a higher total than Birmingham’s 96.
Luton Town earned 98 in 2003/04, Bristol City secured 99 in 2014/15, Wigan won the division with 98 in 2017/18 and Portsmouth went up with 97 last year.
