Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town supporters will be refreshing their phones on a near-constant basis after their game was abandoned in the 80th minute on Saturday afternoon.
A huge downpour of rain halted proceedings at Ewood Park, with Rovers 1-0 up thanks to a Todd Cantwell penalty.
Jacob Greaves had been sent off earlier in the game for pulling down Yuki Ohashi, and Blackburn will find out if a replay is in order later on Monday.
It’s a relatively unprecedented situation, and EFL Analysis has taken a look back at another abandoned Championship game from 2015, and how the league decided to proceed after the event.

Blackpool vs Huddersfield Town was not replayed in 2015
In the 2014/15 campaign, Blackpool faced significant financial problems that ultimately left them at the very bottom of the division.

They faced Huddersfield Town in their final game of the season, but with the scores level at 0-0, supporters of the Tangerines entered the pitch at Bloomfield Road in protest against the ownership.
It took an hour for the pitch to be cleared, and by that point, the game was abandoned by Mick Russell, and it took 12 days for a decision to be made on the next steps.
With Blackpool already relegated and Huddersfield safe in 16th, the EFL decided that the best course of action was to end the game as a 0-0 draw.

Blackburn Rovers will be keen to see the EFL repeat their Blackpool decision
Blackburn were heading to a vital three points on Saturday, and with the likes of Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday winning their games, victory was crucial.
However, given the point of the season we are at, it seems unlikely that the EFL will simply end the game at 1-0 as Ipswich will feel as though they had the opportunity to equalise with 10 minutes still to play.

Blackpool’s situation was extremely different to Blackburn’s, and had either the Seasiders or Huddersfield been battling for promotion, the play-offs or relegation, then the game may have been restarted or carried on from that point.
Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling have said the game must restart from the beginning, and this may just be the outcome that the EFL come to on Monday evening.
