Ewood Park was the venue for a rather bizarre situation between Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.
With the home side leading 1-0 with just 11 minutes of regular time to play, the rain came down in droves in Lancashire, forcing the players off the pitch.
The match officials returned, trying to see how the ball behaved on the sodden grass. However, it was deemed unplayable by referee Stephen Martin, someone who Kieran McKenna has had issues with previously.
Todd Cantwell believes Blackburn should be awarded the points, while the EFL has a number of options available, and now it has been revealed when a decision will be made.

EFL set to make decision on Blackburn Rovers vs Ipswich Town on Monday
Ipswich have had a very poor start to the campaign, and it looked as though it was going to continue as the minutes ticked down at Ewood Park.

However, the rain may prove to be their saviour, with a chance that the game will restart in full at a later date. Alan Nixon has reported that a decision is set to be made by the EFL on Monday, with both clubs set to argue their point.
Given the number of minutes still left in the game, plus additional time, it seems unlikely that Rovers will get their way.
However, previously in the National League, Scunthorpe United have earned all three points for an abandoned game against Wealdstone.

Will Jacob Greaves’ red card be rescinded?
Jacob Greaves was sent off for Ipswich in the 49th minute of the game after he pulled Yuki Ohashi to the ground as the Blackburn forward attacked.
Despite the game being abandoned, the defender will face a one-match suspension for Ipswich’s home game against Portsmouth next weekend.

However, Cantwell’s penalty will not be added to his tally unless the result stands. Although Blackburn want either all three points or for the game to restart with 10 minutes to play and the Tractor Boys down to 10 players.
This seems unlikely, and supporters may have to sit through this fixture once again in the near future.
