Bristol City are set to compete in the Championship play-offs against Sheffield United on Thursday.
The Robins did not have a great start to the season, which included losing Tommy Conway to top-six rivals, Middlesbrough.
But while Boro faltered on the final day against Coventry City, Bristol City drew with Preston North End to earn sixth spot.
They are now set to face Sheffield United in the first of two Championship play-off semi-final legs on Thursday.
Chris Wilder’s side ended the season on 90 points, a full 22 points ahead of their opponents.

Bristol City impressive home record before Sheffield United fixture
One Sky Sports pundit is backing Bristol City and Sheffield United to draw their first-leg meeting on May 8.
The game will take place at Ashton Gate, where the home outfit have been very strong this season.
In their last eight league ties on home soil, Bristol have managed to pick up six wins and draw two.
Meanwhile, only three more teams in the second tier have a better home record than Liam Manning’s side this term.
Bristol City have secured 46 points at Ashton Gate, winning 13 and drawing seven.
Leeds United (58), Burnley (51), and Sheffield United (49) are the only sides to have garnered more points when playing at their own stadiums this campaign.

Bristol City vs Sheffield United head-to-head record
While Bristol have been excellent at home in 2024/25, their overall record against the Blades isn’t great.
At Ashston Gate, Sheffield United have won five of their last seven league ties, with only one win for the Robins.
To make matters worse, Bristol have not beaten the Yorkshire outfit in a Championship fixture since all the way back in March 2019.
They will therefore be hoping their home record from this season holds up and they can finally pick up a win over Wilder and Co.
