The international window is back, which means an end to Championship football for a week; however, there is a chance for fans to see their stars play for their nation should they choose to support them while on duty.

Sheffield United fans will watch on as their international stars head off for duty; however, they hope the players find form to bring it back to the club but by avoiding injury.

As football fans we watch on and believe some of our club players may have superpowers as we see them do things we can only dream of.

However, one international boss has shared that belief, saying that one of the Sheffield United stars has a ‘superpower’ that will be incredibly beneficial to the Blades this season.

Chiedozie Ogbene has superpowers, according to the Republic of Ireland manager

Sheffield United have signed Chiedozie Ogbene from Ipswich Town on loan for the upcoming Championship season; however, before making an appearance for the Blades, he will be back in action for Ireland.

Speaking ahead of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Hungary, Heimir Hallgrímsson addressed his fitness, having just recovered from a serious injury, quelling concerns about Ogbene, as reported by the Irish Examiner.

He said: “Chiedozie’s speed is probably one of his superpowers, and according to the numbers, he is getting there and very close to his top speed,” said the Ireland boss.

“To do that in a game on a consistent basis is another thing. Obviously, he is lacking the match fitness or match experience that others will have.”

Chiedozie Ogbene’s decision to move to Sheffield United

The Republic of Ireland international has made the move to Ipswich Town winger to bring him in for the season to help rescue their campaign under Ruben Selles, after they made their worst start for 30 years to a division outside the top flight.

It is important for Heimir Hallgrímsson and Ireland in their hopes to qualify for the World Cup; it is important Ogbene is starting regularly, with the Irish head coach joking that he encouraged the loan deal.

He said: “We just told Chieo to go somewhere else! No, I’m joking.

“The loan was a good solution if Chieo gets playing time. Hopefully Kasey will get more playing time at Ipswich too.”
