Coventry City have been going under the radar this summer, which will delight Frank Lampard.
Kaine Kesler-Hayden arrived for around £3.5m a week ago, with the Sky Blues looking to recover from a heartbreaking end to the season as Dan Ballard headed in a dramatic winner for Sunderland in the play-off semi-final in May.
Coventry have been out of the Premier League since 2001, but their turnaround in form under Lampard in 2024/25 was sensational and they will be pushing for promotion by the time next May comes around.
Full focus is on the new campaign, and a recent update from the Championship side is further proof of their commitment to the cause.

Coventry City cancel 2024/25 End of Season Awards
After originally being postponed in May, Coventry have now cancelled their 2024/25 End of Season Awards, with Jack Rudoni named as Player of the Year. The midfielder scored 10 goals and registered 13 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions last time out, and was rightfully handed the award.

Owner Doug King explained why the decision was taken to cancel the event. He said (via: ccfc.co.uk): “With all of our attentions now on the 2025/26 season and ensuring thorough preparation for the new campaign, we have decided not to hold our re-scheduled End of Season event.
“Jack Rudoni won the majority of the awards voted for by official Supporter Clubs, and giving him the Player of the Year recognises the brilliant season he had and also the relationship we have with Supporters Clubs, the majority of whom selected Jack as their Player of the Year.
“After record breaking Season Ticket sales for the new campaign and two additions so far to the squad, all eyes are now rightly on 2025/26. We are all looking forward to the new season, the hard work for which is well underway and steps up another gear this week with the pre-season training commencing.”
Frank Lampard will want to put last season behind him
It was a cruel end to an excellent campaign for Lampard and his Coventry team. However, the Sky Blues will now have the bit between their teeth and they will be pushing flat out for promotion next season.

Their head coach did not hide his disappointment following Sunderland’s aggregate victory at the Stadium of Light and he will want to use this pain to attack the Championship at full pace.
Rudoni has been linked with a move away from the CBS Arena this summer, but if Coventry can keep hold of their star player, then a second successive top six finish is surely on its way to the West Midlands.
