Two Illan Meslier mistakes cost Leeds United three points against Swansea City at Elland Road.
Having twice led, Leeds were pegged back initially when Meslier dropped the ball onto the foot of Harry Darling to equalise. Willy Gnonto appeared to have scored the winner before a Zan Vipotnik strike squirmed under the Frenchman in extra time.

The Whites remain inside the top two with favourable fixtures, but Sheffield United and Burnley winning against Coventry City and Bristol City respectively has tightened things up at the top of the Championship table.
Leeds finished third last season, having led the way during the international break. Many supporters are rightly worried that the same events could be transpiring again after a leggy display at Elland Road.

Illan Meslier blamed for Leeds United 2-2 Swansea City
Experts were predicting a comfortable Leeds win, while the key stats were also outlined that pointed towards a Leeds victory today.
Despite aspects of the performance as a whole being below par, most Leeds fans could only point the finger at one man, with Meslier taking most of the blame for the dropped points late on.
One fan said: “Daniel Farke’s stance on Meslier in January means his mistakes are on him. Had four windows to fix a clear issue and hasn’t addressed it. It’s on him”.
It’s been claimed by EFL experts previously that Leeds would be far clear at the top if they had James Trafford or Michael Cooper in goal, with fans also echoing a similar sentiment.
Another added: “Ilan Meslier has single handedly cost us promotion.”
A further response read: “Farke will ignore the Meslier issue once again, but if we don’t get promoted it will be 100% because of the goalkeeper. If you are being kind that’s at least 6 points gone because of him.”
A final response read: “At this point I’m convinced Meslier is match fixing. No other explanation.”

Meslier displays could see Leeds fall apart again
With each side in the mix aiming to gain the financial reward of automatic promotion, but also possibly to be among the highest points tallies in Championship history, that feels like a far cry from recent Leeds performances.
In many ways, a result like that could not have been timed any better, with supercomputers predicting promotion for Farke’s men from the Championship this week during the international break.
Leeds’ problem is that the know they must escape the play-offs, given their record at Wembley and Daniel Farke knows avoiding a repeat of last season is absolutely crucial.
Now, they need a reset. That should include dropping Meslier. If they don’t, Leeds could be falling apart again.
