Norwich City looked destined to lose 15-goal forward Josh Sargent this summer, but now his Wolfsburg transfer appears to be in jeopardy.
After the arrival of head coach Liam Manning earlier this summer, Norwich City have completed some impressive business during the summer transfer window so far.
Norwich signed Harry Darling after he left Swansea City, completed the permanent capture of Manchester City loanee Jacob Wright, and the Canaries signed Mathias Kvistgaarden in a £6.9m deal.
As well as those incomings, Norwich are set to sign Jeffrey Schlupp after he departed Crystal Palace, ahead of fellow Championship suitors Sheffield United.
In terms of outgoings, Josh Sargent was poised to exit Carrow Road for Bundesliga giants Wolfsburg, but now the deal is up in the air.

Wolfsburg ‘withdraw’ from move for Norwich City striker Josh Sargent
Norwich were primed for high-profile departures for Sargent, and former partner-in-crime Borja Sainz this summer.
Earlier in July, Sainz left Norwich for Porto, after ending last season as runner-up in the Championship golden boot race with 18 goals.
Canaries striker Sargent looked set to join Sainz out of the Carrow Road exit doors, after Burnley and Wolfsburg were in talks for Sargent.
In recent days, Sargent neared a £21m move to Wolfsburg, but now reports in Germany have claimed that Wolfsburg have pulled out of the race to sign the forward who scored 15 Championship goals last season.
German outlet Wolfsburger Allgemeine report: “The transfer of desired player Josh Sargent has fallen through.
“A transfer fee of €16 million was on the table, but Norwich demanded well over €20 million. The English club also rejected an improved offer of around 19 million euros.
“As there was no rapprochement because the second division club did not give in, VfL withdrew.”
Before news emerged that Sargent’s move to Wolfsburg has collapsed, Canaries boss Manning lifted the lid on the striker’s attitude throughout the transfer saga.

Norwich City fans will love Liam Manning’s comments on Josh Sargent
As per the Pink Un, Sargent trained with the Canaries squad last week and has “remained professional” throughout the Wolfsburg saga, even captaining Manning’s side in a 1-1 friendly draw against Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem at the weekend.
On Saturday, when asked about Sargent’s situation after the friendly, Manning explained: “His attitude has been top. I can’t sing his praises well enough, from that perspective.
“Until I’m told different, we’ll keep working, we’ll keep pushing him. And as far as I’m concerned, at the minute, he’s still a Norwich player. So nothing should change until anything else happens.
“If the player is onboard, that’s the key bit. You see him as captain, leading by example; he spoke really well in the changing room.
“You forget he’s only 25 still, you kind of forget that when you speak with him, because he’s been around and done so well at the level for so long.
“So like I say, he’s been terrific out here, and we’ll keep pushing him this coming week.”
Whether Burnley reignite their interest in Sargent remains to be seen, but Manning will be hoping for a swift resolution to the striker’s saga, one way or the other.
