Middlesbrough returned to Championship action on Friday afternoon, taking on a struggling Plymouth Argyle.
Middlesbrough fans thought promotion was done despite their side being pushed firmly back into the top-six picture this week.
Coventry City drew with Hull City on Monday, and with the former playing fellow play-off chasers West Brom on April 18, it was a great chance for Boro to climb back into the play-offs.
Middlesbrough kicked off the day eighth in the division, but only three points adrift of Coventry with a better goal difference.

However, Plymouth could set a club record vs Boro if they picked up a win, with the Greens having already taken the scalp of another promotion hopeful this month in Sheffield United.
And as they scored three times in the reverse fixture, fans were no doubt nervous of another upset occurring this week.

Middlesbrough fans all make same point vs Plymouth Argyle
It was a very tight game but in the end, Middlesbrough managed to come out on top against the Greens.
Finn Azaz scored the opener against his former club before Plymouth hit back and appeared to have earned themselves a draw.
However, a late penalty scored by Tommy Conway secured Boro a valuable three points.
Following the result, fans have all taken to social media to react, suggesting it was a poor display, but the play-offs remain on.
One fan wrote: “Might be a massive goal, might mean nowt ultimately, but for now it keeps the season alive.
“Said before kick off it was all about the win, regardless of performance, but it would be nice if we didn’t make such hard work of it. We go again Monday!”
A second responded to the result: “Wins a win, but that was awful.”
“MY DAYS was that a tough watch but three points is three points don’t matter how,” a third responded.
Another Middlesbrough fan echoed: “So glad we won but we have to play better than this.”
And a fifth stated: “Poor poor performance but credit to the lads keep going utb btw I love Tommy Conway.”
One game likely to decide Middlesbrough season
After Coventry picked up a positive result against West Brom, they have kept sixth place.
Middlesbrough have moved up to seventh ahead of the Baggies, still sitting three points off the top six.
Boro are next in action on Monday against a Sheffield Wednesday side with nothing really left to play for this season.
As a result, it now looks likely that the final-day clash with Frank Lampard’s Coventry will decide who takes one of the play-off places.
