Charlton Athletic take on Blackburn Rovers in the Championship this weekend, and Nathan Jones has revealed some positive injury news ahead of this one.

Charlton Athletic won promotion from League One via the play-offs last season, and the Addicks have made a very steady start to life back in the Championship.

This summer, Charlton Athletic spent £10million on new players and signed last season’s League One top scorer Charlie Kelman from QPR in a deal that could rise up to £5million.

Whilst the American is yet to score in six Championship games for Nathan Jones‘ side, Charlton are looking good, beating Sheffield United 1-0 at Bramall Lane last time out.

They sit in 13th place of the Championship table going into the weekend, compared to Blackburn Rovers in 18th.

Nathan Jones drops Charlton Athletic injury updates on Luke Berry, Matty Godden and more

As with most teams at this early stage of the season, Charlton Athletic have a few injury concerns creeping in. Right now, Jones is without Luke Berry, Will Mannion and Matty Godden, but says Berry and Mannion are now back in training.

Jones said ahead of the Blackburn Rovers game: “So Luke’s back. Luke’s back in full training, so that’s good. Matty’s still just a slow process at the minute, and then Will Mannion’s back on grass. So look, we’re in a significantly better position than we were a week ago. Obviously Kayne [Ramsey] returns as well, so there’s real good competition this week.”

Ramsey missed the Sheffield United game through suspension but is back and available for the Addicks.

Key weather update issued ahead of Charlton Athletic vs Blackburn Rovers

Last weekend, Blackburn Rovers’ game against Ipswich Town was abandoned with Rovers leading, due to heavy rainfall in Lancashire.

Thankfully though, the Met Office have issued a positive weather update for Charlton’s game against Rovers, suggesting it’ll be a dry one with no threat of heavy rainfall.

And Jones will now hope to take advantage of Rovers’ recent uncertainty and heartache after seeing their game against Ipswich abandoned whilst being in front.

The EFL were discussing the outcome of Blackburn against Ipswich Town, and the EFL have decided to replay the game in full with the score starting back at 0-0.
