We’re back with more Championship score predictions as we try to recover from one of the most shocking and unexpected set of results last weekend.
Seriously, who would have thought Wrexham would slot three past Norwich City at Carrow Road? Or that Oxford United could get the better of Bristol City at Ashton Gate?
Even Chris Wilder failed on his return to Sheffield United, losing in the dying moments against Charlton Athletic. This crazy league just keeps throwing up mad results, but we can’t deny, it’s a lot of fun.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 6 | 5 | 1 | 0 | 11 | 4 | 7 | 16 | |
| 2 | 6 | 4 | 0 | 2 | 9 | 4 | 5 | 12 | |

The Championship is never dull. It does make our job harder when coming up with Championship score predictions, of course, but we’ll keep on trying!

The latest Championship score predictions
West Brom vs Leicester City
Both sides are yet to win since the return of the international break, but I think that will come to an end this week. Neither has looked overly convincing in front of goal, however, I think Leicester have looked more assured at the back. The Hawthorns is the Foxes’ favourite ground to visit and I back Leicester to continue their 15-year unbeaten record there.
Callum’s score prediction: West Brom 0-1 Leicester City
Coventry City vs Birmingham City
Following Leicester City last week, the huge games continue for Frank Lampard and Coventry City. They may well be unbeaten but the four draws will be somewhat of a frustration for his side. Birmingham City were far more themselves against Swansea City last time out but can they build on that performance? It screams that this will be a tight affair.
Adam’s score prediction: Coventry City 2-1 Birmingham City
Swansea City vs Millwall
Despite spotty and unpredictable starts, these two teams find themselves in the top half of the Championship table going into this weekend. Millwall didn’t look especially impressive on Monday night against Watford but they got the job done. I fancy them to make things difficult for Swansea and Millwall will extend their unbeaten away run, but there’ll be little to split these two teams.
Jakob’s score prediction: Swansea City 1-1 Millwall
Wrexham vs Derby County
Wrexham have lift-off now and earned themselves a good win away at Norwich City. It seems like the new signings have settled in and they have looked more competitive. Dropping Conor Coady was a brave move from Phil Parkinson and has paid off so far. Derby have performed below par and I expect them to struggle again.
Callum’s score prediction: Wrexham 2-1 Derby County
Charlton Athletic vs Blackburn Rovers
No team has had fewer goals (10 — joint with Portsmouth) involved in their games than Charlton Athletic. Nathan Jones’ side know what they are and they are effective at doing so. However, Blackburn Rovers’ performance level has been volatile to say the least so far. What version of Valerien Ismael’s outfit turns up is likely to matter the most here. Consistency is king for the Addicks.
Adam’s score prediction: Charlton Athletic 1-0 Blackburn Rovers
Ipswich Town vs Portsmouth
Ipswich avoided defeat against Blackburn Rovers purely down to torrential rain. They looked a shadow of the side that battered Sheffield United 5-0, but I fancy that lucky escape to be the kind of kick up the backside they needed. Portsmouth were dire against Sheffield Wednesday, and they’ll get nothing here.
Jakob’s score prediction: Ipswich Town 2-0 Portsmouth
Oxford United vs Sheffield United
What a win for Oxford last week. That and the draw against Leicester have been huge and give them confidence against a Sheffield United side in all sorts of bother. Chris Wilder slipped up here last season when chasing promotion. He cannot afford a repeat of that again. It’ll be tough, but I think the Blades will finally get themselves some points.
Callum’s score prediction: Oxford United 0-2 Sheffield United
Preston North End vs Bristol City
Preston North End’s start to 2025/26 has exceeded the expectations of many, while Bristol City will have been delighted with their start outside of last week’s display against Oxford United. They’ll need to bounce back quickly here, but it won’t be easy here given Preston’s unbeaten start at Deepdale.
Adam’s score prediction: Preston North End 1-1 Bristol City
Sheffield Wednesday vs QPR
Sheffield Wednesday have lost just once to QPR in the last five years, but things are very different now. The Owls beat Portsmouth, but squad depth is a real concern. Home form has been horrendous at Hillsborough too. Meanwhile QPR are looking really strong since that 7-1 hammering by Coventry City, and they’ll fancy this one. However, I’ll back Wednesday to grind out something here.
Jakob’s score prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 QPR

Southampton vs Middlesbrough
If you swapped the positions these two are in now, it would probably reflect the pre-season predictions. For all of the hype around Will Still and the Saints, I think they’ve been way off the mark. Middlesbrough on the other hand have been exceptional and I think the Rob Edwards express will continue to keep on rolling here.
Callum’s score prediction: Southampton 1-2 Middlesbrough
Stoke City vs Norwich City
Norwich City, simply put, are absolutely baffling under Liam Manning. Ordinarily, you perceive them to make Carrow Road a fortress but the exact opposite has been true thus far. They have travelled remarkably well but conceding goals home and away has been the problem. Stoke City have been one of the stories of the season but it’s three defeats in four in all competitions now after an excellent start. A point may do here.
Adam’s score prediction: Stoke City 1-1 Norwich City
Watford vs Hull City
Watford fans are not happy with Paulo Pezzolano right now, and after what they saw at Millwall, who can blame them? They lack urgency and look really blunt. Hull, on the other hand, are defying all expectations and made light work of Southampton last weekend. This is actually one of the easiest Championship score predictions of the week for me. I simply can’t see anything other than a Hull City win in this one, and it’ll be comfortable, too.
Jakob’s score prediction: Watford 0-2 Hull City
