Norwich City have not had the start to the season that they would have hoped for, with Liam Manning perhaps taking a little more time than expected to get his ideas across.
The Canaries are currently 10th in the Championship with a 1-1 draw against Coventry City denying them a place in the top six for now, as the Sky Blues scored a late equaliser at the CBS Arena. However, Frank Lampard was unimpressed with Manning’s tactics.
Nevertheless, Josh Sargent is proving to be a threat once again for the Norfolk outfit, and having a striker who can score goals consistently is much-needed if a play-off finish is desired.
A strong number nine is something that those at Carrow Road have been used to over the years, and now one Norwich legend is returning to the club in a different capacity.

Grant Holt takes on new coaching role in Norwich City return
While Sargent is scoring the goals for the Canaries now, back in the day it was Grant Holt’s job to turn the ball into the back of the net in yellow and green.

After retiring from football in 2018, it’s been an exciting few years for the 44-year-old and he has worked as a scout at West Ham United in the last few years.
However, he is now returning to Norwich as a coach for the club’s academy, working with the U14s team as he looks to help build the future of the Canaries.
In a post on X, Holt said of his return: “I’m delighted to say that I have started a new position as @NorwichCityFC U14s coach . Feels great to be back in the building and passing some knowledge on to the younger generation.”
Grant Holt has plenty of experience that will be invaluable to the Canaries
Although it’s been seven years since he retired from professional football, the 44-year-old has an excellent history with Norwich and he can offer plenty of knowledge to the next crop of players.
During his time as a player at Carrow Road, Holt scored 78 goals in 146 appearances. He was instrumental in helping the club to promotion to the Premier League in 2010/11, where he had an outstanding goal return in his first campaign.

The striker found the back of the net on 15 occasions as Norwich avoided relegation, and bringing in a player who has experience in playing across the divisions in England is a huge coup for the Canaries.
Holt will feel as though he is back home, and the Norfolk outfit may have some strikers to watch out for in the coming years.
