Coventry City host Norwich City this weekend, and in-form Canaries ace Josh Sargent will be desperate for a goal.
Coventry City take on Norwich City on Saturday afternoon as Championship action resumes after the international break.
Coventry are flying high in fifth place going into the clash, with the Sky Blues the only Championship team to have a double-digit figure for goals scored thus far (on 14).
Frank Lampard will want to show Norwich what they missed out on in 2021 after he rejected the Canaries, who have made a positive start to life under Liam Manning.
The jewel in Manning’s Norwich crown is undoubtedly centre-forward Josh Sargent, and the American will be desperate to score at Coventry this weekend to join a coveted Championship club.

Josh Sargent is hunting for his 50th Championship goal vs Coventry City
Thankfully for Manning and the Canaries faithful, Norwich kept Sargent beyond the summer window’s deadline following interest in his services from Wolfsburg, Burnley and Sunderland.
Sargent revealed why he wanted to stay at Norwich despite the top flight links, telling USA Today: “I think I’m in a good spot at Norwich. I’m at a place where I know I can score goals, which of course is important going into the World Cup.
“I’ve had a good start to the season, so hopefully I can continue that form all throughout the season and keep scoring goals.”
Unfortunately for the frontman, Sargent’s international goal drought continued for the USA over the break, but his absolutely prolific form in the Championship has been the total opposite.
Sargent has scored five goals in his first four league outings of the 2025/26 season for Norwich, with a brace against Blackburn Rovers last time out taking his Championship tally to 49 in a yellow and green jersey.
Therefore, Sargent is targeting his 50th Championship goal when Manning’s Norwich side travel to Coventry on Saturday.
If Sargent does score, according to Transfermarkt’s data, the striker will become one of 87 players to have notched at least 50 goals in the second tier between its inception in 2004/05 and the current 2025/26 campaign.
Additionally, the former Werder Bremen forward’s record over recent seasons against Coventry will bring further fear for Lampard.

Josh Sargent has prolific record for Norwich City vs Coventry City
With Sargent being one of the 20 best players in the Championship right now, it would be no surprise to see the USMNT ace bag a goal or two on Saturday afternoon.
Form aside, Sargent’s record for the Canaries against Coventry is also prolific, with him firing three goals in four previous appearances against the Sky Blues.
With six goals in five games from all competitions so far this season, Sargent has established himself as one of, if not the best, strikers in the second tier.
Unsurprisingly, his form has seen the USMNT star feature in WhoScored’s Championship Team of the 2025/26 Season so far, up-front alongside Wrexham summer signing Kieffer Moore.
If Sargent does notch his 50th Championship goal for the Canaries against Coventry on Saturday, you can hedge your bets that his 51st will not be far away.
