Norwich City were arguably the quietest club in the Championship on deadline day, as they had already done all their business regarding signings ahead of the busiest day in the summer transfer market.
The Canaries did have to fend off some interest in key players, including Kenny McLean, who was of interest to Rangers; however, Liam Manning will have him and Josh Sargent at his disposal this season.
Norwich City fans may have been incredibly frustrated had the club sanctioned further star players to leave Carrow Road this summer after they sold Marcelino Nunez to Ipswich Town, despite their reasoning for this deal.
However, there is one player Norwich City will regret; the one deal they were unable to conclude before the transfer deadline.
Norwich City failed to agree an exit for Shane Duffy
Liam Manning had made it clear that Norwich City were exploring deals to move Shane Duffy on from Carrow Road this summer, be that either through a loan or on a permanent deal.
The Republic of Ireland international is entering the final year of his contract; however, the club would have looked to have saved on some of his wages due to him being one of the highest earners at Carrow Road.

Meanwhile, Shane Duffy may regret not earning a loan deal if he did not wish to lose the level of income through his wages had he left on a permanent deal, as he could have played first-team football for the upcoming season.
While Duffy is currently out of the international reckoning with Ireland, had he been starting matches, he could have forced his way into the squad selected by Heimir Hallgrímsson for the 2026 World Cup at the end of the season, should the Boys in Green qualify.

Stephen Kenny on the Shane Duffy
The former Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny was impressed by Shane Duffy and his ability to work on his game to become part of the reckoning.
This previous attitude to working on his form and ability earned him a spot back in the Ireland squad under Kenny, with the player capable of doing this again had he left Norwich City ahead of the World Cup.
Speaking to the Irish Sun, Kenny said: “He loves playing for Ireland, he is a good character in the squad, and we are lucky to have him.

“He intervenes in big moments. We didn’t get over the line against Portugal, it was so close, but it wasn’t his fault.
“He did some unbelievable defending in that game, and he comes up with big goals like the equaliser against Azerbaijan.
“He has definitely shown — long before I was manager, under successive managers — that he possesses a lot of character; certainly under Martin O’Neill and Mick McCarthy he was an important part of their teams. He has shown a lot of character consistently.”
