Notts County have only just begun their third season back in the English Football League and have already sealed an incredible EFL record.
The Nottingham club won promotion back to League Two in 2023 alongside Wrexham after four campaigns stuck in the National League.
Now, they are pushing to get back to League One for the first time in 10 years. They kept hold of key man Alassana Jatta after EFL Analysis’ chief football correspondent Graeme Bailey revealed last month that there was transfer interest in the Gambian. This was a huge boost after the departure of David McGoldrick.
While the Championship paused for the international break, the third and fourth tiers carried on – and fans may have missed a huge milestone achieved by Notts County.

Notts County have beaten every club in the Premier League and the English Football League
After Notts County’s win against Fleetwood Town in League Two on Saturday, the Magpies have now defeated every club currently in England’s top four tiers.
Summer signing Matthew Dennis’ 46th minute goal was enough to seal a 1-0 win as the Nottinghamshire club moved to 10th in the table.
County have now joined Port Vale in managing the rare achievement. Vale have actually done it twice in their history, doing so for the second time last season.
This came after a 5-0 win against Bromley last season.
Matthew Dennis nominated for League Two Player of The Month
County’s goalscorer in their historic game Dennis has now scored six goals and grabbed two assists in seven games this term.
He has bagged those goals in five games in a row in League Two, netting a double in the 2-2 draw with Bromley.
The forward left Carlisle United following their relegation from League Two despite being offered a new deal.
The former Arsenal youth player is only 23 years old and looks to have been a solid signing for Martin Paterson, and he’s now been nominated to be League Two’s August Player of The Month.
