It’s been a fantastic 12 months for the Midlands outfit, who set an EFL points record in 2024/25.
Birmingham City are now back competing in the Championship, and Tom Wagner is aiming for promotion once more.
To help achieve their goal of reaching the Premier League, the Blues have been very busy on the transfer front.
Birmingham are favourites to land Tommy Doyle, while fans are excited about a move for Kyogo Furuhashi.
One man who is now set to play an important role in the club’s recruitment going forward is Lukas Jutkiewicz, who retired from playing at the end of 2024/25.

Birmingham have confirmed this week that the former striker will be remaining with them in a new role.
They announced: “The Club is delighted to announce that Lukas Jutkiewicz will take on a new role as First Team Positional Lead Scout.”
And fans have since reacted to the news on social media in a very positive fashion.
One fan wrote: “Amazing!”
A second replied: “Congrats Jukey, so happy the club have kept you on after the years of loyalty and hard graft, you deserve it so much.”
“Good luck and do well, Jukey,” a third Birmingham fan responded.
A fourth echoed: “Good luck Juke, go be fantastic in the new role!” while a fifth added: “Great news.”
And a sixth Blues supporter tweeted: “The king of Blues finding us the next Blues legends is perfect.”
Lukas Jutkiewicz comments on becoming Birmingham City scout
The former Middlesbrough player linked up with Birmingham permanently in 2017, signing from Burnley.
He went on to feature 357 times, scoring 68 goals and providing 27 assists across all competitions.
On remaining at St Andrew’s, the ex-striker said: “Now that my playing career has come to a close, I’m excited to begin a new chapter.
“I look forward to applying the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over my 20-year playing career in a different capacity, and I will bring the same commitment and passion to this new role as I did on the pitch.
“It’s an honour to be asked to help this great club move forward into what is undoubtedly a bright and exciting future.”
