Watford and Plymouth Argyle played out a 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road in the early kick-off on Sky Sports, with Miron Muslic having to settle for a point.

Plymouth dug deep but the opposite was true for Watford after they were blasted for their performance by Sky pundits. Many predicted Plymouth could get something from the game and they did.

The visitors are still struggling at the bottom of the league and in a perilous position, but they had opportunities in transition and on the counter-attack to snatch the points as well.

Plymouth Argyle player struggled against Watford

The cause of much frustration stemmed from the performance, but there was a particular issue in attack that many Plymouth fans highlighted at full-time.

One said: “This is not a team fighting for survival, this is a team ticking off games until we’re down, trying not to embarrass themselves too much, pathetic.”

Outside of the performance, they also had plenty to say about one man in particular. Michael Baidoo’s January move from IF Elfsborg has not gone to plan, with the Ghanaian ruining a promising attack late on to win the game on the break.

One fan did not hold back, stating: “Baidoo is the worst player to ever the wear the shirt.”

Another added: “£1.5m for Baidoo. Elfsborg must be laughing themselves silly.”

He wasn’t the only player to disappoint, with Vakoun Bayo also blasted by Watford fans. It was a difficult watch for the neutral despite the presence of the mercurial Giorgi Chakvetadze.

Michael Baidoo isn’t League One quality

On the basis of what has gone on so far, Baidoo may just be a classic example of a player ill-suited to English football, meaning the Championship or League One physicality is too much for him.

There is very little to enjoy about his displays from a technical or physical perspective, with some players often showing flashes of something to cling to.

His awareness and decision-making is lacking, which was showcased on the break with Callum Wright. It could be a pivotal moment in their season as well.

A point does nothing for Plymouth at this stage, even if they can be pleased with the way they battled and fought for everything at Vicarage Road, especially without defender Maksym Talovierov for the season ahead of the final run-in for the relegation places.
