Plymouth Argyle have suffered several high-profile departures this summer, and the acquisition of the impressive centre-forward would be a welcome remedy.
Plymouth Argyle are in a transitional period this summer after suffering relegation from the Championship to League One last season.
After Tom Cleverley replaced Miron Muslic in the Home Park dugout, the former Watford head coach has endured a testing summer transfer window in his first months in the job.
Plymouth lost Ryan Hardie to Wrexham earlier in the window, Bristol signed Adam Randell, and Maksym Talovierov joined Stoke City in a £2m move.
With forward Mustapha Bundu also departed, Argyle need goalscoring recruits for Cleverley, and their imminent acquisition of an 11-goal striker would certainly fulfil that quest.

Plymouth Argyle make fresh bid Rumarn Burrell from Burton Albion
As a result of Hardie and Bundu departing Argyle, Cleverley has been left with 22-year-old duo Aribim Pepple and Owen Oseni to call upon in the goalscoring department.
Cleverley’s first impression of Plymouth’s squad were positive, but it is evident that the Argyle transfer team need to recruit up-front.
EFL Analysis outlined three Hardie replacements for Plymouth, which did not include Burton Albion striker Rumarn Burrell, who is the subject of strong transfer interest from Cleverley’s side.
With the transfer window in full swing, Sky Sports have revealed: “Plymouth Argyle have made a fresh bid for Burton Albion forward Rumarn Burrell.
“Burton are considering the offer which is believed to be close to £1m.
“It is understood that the player is keen on the move and Plymouth are hopeful of concluding a deal.”
Burrell scored 11 goals and registered two assists in 30 League One appearances for Burton last season, helping his side dodge relegation to League Two.
Jamaican international Burrell was imperative for Burton last season, finishing the 2024/25 campaign as the club’s top goalscorer.
Despite an impressive return last season, it remains to be seen whether the former Middlesbrough academy prospect would be able to fill the void left by the absence of Hardie and Bundu.

Tom Cleverley will be desperate to see Plymouth Argyle sign Rumarn Burrell
In our early 2025/26 League One predictions, Plymouth were tipped to bounce back instantly from the third tier.
However, those hopes could hinge on the signing of Burrell, given his proven goalscoring record and ability to operate at League One level.
| Key statistic | Rumarn Burrell in 24/25 |
| Games played | 30 |
| Goals | 11 |
| Assists | 2 |
| Shots on target | 23 |
| Chances created | 15 |
Burrell, alongside recruit Oseni, will have big boots to fill in the wake of Hardie and Bundu’s departures, given that the recently departed Plymouth forward duo scored 23 goals between them last season.
24-year-old Burrell enjoyed prolific spells at Falkirk and Cove Rangers before joining Burton last summer.
If the Jamaican’s move to Home Park materialises, he will be tasked with firing Cleverley’s side to an automatic return to the second tier, but only time will tell as to whether Burrell can take up the mantle left by Hardie and Bundu.
