Middlesbrough fans will be loving life under Rob Edwards at present following their perfect start to the Championship campaign.
It has been the best start in 31 years to a Championship campaign for Middlesbrough, and this is down to the work Rob Edwards has done on the squad he inherited from Michael Carrick and the several signings he has made while in charge.
While fans will have to wait until after the international break to see the impact that both their signing of the summer, Alan Browne and David Strelec, will have on the team, Middlesbrough have already seen the impact of several new faces.
Now, Rob Edwards has admitted that he has already fallen in love with one of the club’s new signings despite not having been through the doors at the Riverside for any length of time.
Rob Edwards in love with Sverre Nypan
Middlesbrough brought Manchester City starlet Sverre Nypan on loan to the Riverside for the season, and he has already had a positive impact around the club.
Rob Edwards was encouraged by the performance of the youngster in their victory over Sheffield United, speaking with Teesside Live; however, he committed the cardinal sin with any loan signing by falling in love with them.
He said: “I thought Sverre was really good, and he was involved in the build-up to the goal. My most pleasing part, other than the goal, was Sverre blocking one in the 18-yard box and then celebrating with a chest pump with Callum Brittain.

“That’s an 18-year-old lad who is quite a flairy player. But to then be celebrating blocks… he’s got used to England already! I love that!”
First impressions of David Strelec at Middlesbrough
Rob Edwards is already excited by the deal to bring David Strelec to Middlesbrough after chasing the striker for a sustained period during the summer.
While he has not kicked a ball for Middlesbrough, there is hope he can be the difference in reaching the play-offs for Rob Edwards’ side to achieve promotion.
As reported by Teesside Live, he said: “I’m very excited.
“We’ve had a few good chats and met. I really like him. I think the supporters will really like him as well. We have a really strong group in that top line, and you need that if you’re going to be at the right end of the table.

“It’s a long season. We’re going to need all of them. He’s really excited about coming in and helping us. I’m delighted with that one. It was [a name put to him very early]. The lads have been on that one and around it for a long time.
“With signings like that, that has to be the case. There has to be a lot of homework done, and they’ve delivered that one really well. He’s a really good guy and a really good player, and he will certainly help us.”
