Sheffield Wednesday fans have been dragged through the gutter this summer, with their club being placed under excruciating difficulty by Dejphon Chansiri.

Several first-team players have been sold at Sheffield Wednesday, whilst fans have been left in the dark regarding the situation of the North Stand, which will be closed for the home clash vs Stoke City.

The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust has planned a protest for the away trip to Leicester City on the opening day, whilst talks of further unrest are set to take place at home vs Stoke City, There is an expectation that the protests will be seismic, especially after the significant amount of money that Owls fans have raised for the cause.

Sheffield Wednesday fans raise five-figure sum in bid to save their club

Following the turbulent summer, Sheffield Wednesday fans have decided to voice their concerns in the upcoming Championship clashes, including the visit to Leicester City, which will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

There is plenty of support from the Owls fans for the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust and their plans for the upcoming weeks, especially after the significant amount they have raised for the group.

Sheffield Wednesday fans have raised over £11,000 for the Trust’s campaign funds, with the money set to ‘support unpaid workers’, ‘organise protest activities’ and ‘continue to campaign for positive change at our football club’.

The Supporters have made their feelings clear by significantly backing the Trust in the club’s hour of darkness, further showing the opposition that Dejphon Chansiri has at the club.

Owls fanbase has never been more united against Dejphon Chansiri

This summer has seen one issue followed by another, and many of the concerns ultimately stem back to the owner, Dejphon Chansiri.

The last five years have seen plenty of unrest towards the Thai owner, but he has also had his backers, which has split the fanbase at times where it needed to be united.

However, the last two months have been incredibly eye-opening at Sheffield Wednesday. The club has been torn apart in clear view, which has since led to the entire fanbase siding against Chansiri.

Sheffield Wednesday are no closer to a takeover this summer; however, such action can only have positive effects as they look to put as much pressure as possible on Chansiri.
