Sheffield United sit at the very bottom of the Championship table after six games, looking up at the rest of the division, with a four-point gap between themselves and 23rd-placed Sheffield Wednesday.
Only three other Championship clubs have started a season with six defeats, and only one of those, Wednesday themselves, avoided relegation. It makes bleak reading for Blades supporters, but Chris Wilder is not shirking from the challenge.
The 58-year-old’s homecoming did not prove to be the positive occasion that he would have planned out, as Charlton Athletic scored a late winner to take all three points in S2, but that is now in the past.
Wilder’s priority was to bring in more coaching staff following this painful start, and now he has followed through with that promise at Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder confirms fresh arrival to Sheffield United coaching team
The Blades face Oxford United on Saturday afternoon, and there will be a fresh face in the dugout at Bramall Lane.

Guilherme Ramos, who spent time with Nottingham Forest in 2020/21, has joined Sheffield United as a first-team coach, and Wilder is delighted with his arrival.
He said (via: The Star): “As I said to the media when I returned, I was keen to use the opportunity to try and freshen up the coaching side. Guilherme is someone I’ve been aware of for a while now, and he adds something a little different which will complement the talents of Alan, Matt and Micky Collins.
“He’s a young coach, but he’s built up an impressive CV working in different countries alongside some respected names in the game. I think it’s a progressive appointment for all parties and he’s someone we’re excited to be working with.”

Guilherme Ramos’ arrival is good news for Christian Nwachukwu and Ehije Ukaki
Since arriving at Sheffield United from Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv, Christian Nwachukwu and Ehije Ukaki have found life tough.
They have not been offered opportunities to express themselves and prove their talents on the pitch, and so far, their services have not been required.

However, Ramos has spent time at Botev Plovdiv himself, and this could be the break that Nwachukwu and Ukaki need to finally show off their ability.
They will be keen to impress the new coach in training, and with Sheffield United struggling, they will hope that they can force their way into Wilder’s plans.
