Chris Wilder will want to avoid recording an unwanted feat that only three other clubs have suffered at his eagerly anticipated Sheffield United homecoming.
His replacement Ruben Selles was sacked after the Blades were thumped 5-0 by Ipswich Town last Friday. Wilder was rehired as a result and is now preparing to begin his third spell as Sheffield United manager.
The South Yorkshire side welcome Wilder’s former club Charlton Athletic to Bramall Lane on Saturday, with the Championship basement club are looking to pick up their first win in all competitions this season.
However, should Nathan Jones and the Addicks spoil the party, United will join their rivals Sheffield Wednesday in suffering an undesirable statistic.

Sheffield Wednesday one of only three clubs to have lost opening six Championship games
The Blades have lost six games out of six so far this season, with five consecutive defeats in the league.
Only three sides have lost each of their opening six matches of a Championship campaign.
United’s local rivals Sheffield Wednesday suffered this string of results in the 2007/08 season. They managed to avoid relegation to League One in the final game of the season.
Peterborough United lost seven in a row at the start of the 2012/13 campaign and were subsequently relegated.
In 2020/21 Wycombe Wanderers had the same issue, finishing in 22nd like Posh did and sinking back to League One.

Wilder himself has admitted his first goal is to get a win under the Blades’ belts – and the Bramall Lane faithful have gone from being dejected and disillusioned to excited for Saturday’s game as a result.
Sheffield United fans’ mood high ahead of Charlton Athletic clash
The mood inside Sheffield United’s ground is bound to be high as the Blades fans welcome their club legend back to the hot seat.
Fans on social media are itching for his return, with one writing on X: “I’ll tell you what, with the people and backing involved in this movement now, we are cooking. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
“Feel so lucky to have Wilder back at the club – speaks with so much integrity, embodies a gritty & resilient northern work ethic, and knows what it means to get your hands dirty & succeed for the club! On to Saturday,” a second said.
Sheffield United have made the joint-worst start after five games in Championship history, level with Wycombe Wanderers in 2020/21. Wilder will be hoping to start turning things around instantly against Charlton.
