Sheffield Wednesday are not eager to lose Rangers transfer target Pierce Charles this summer.
The Owls have already lost one player to the Scottish powerhouse in the 2025 summer transfer window.
Sheffield Wednesday sold Djeidi Gassama to Rangers for just £2.2m earlier this summer.
Gassama has shone for the Gers already, and they have their sights set on another Owls player.
It’s been reported that Rangers want to sign Pierce Charles, while Southampton and Leicester City are also interested.
However, Wednesday are not thought to be keen on selling, and they are now taking steps to help the goalkeeper develop at Hillsborough.

How Sheffield Wednesday plan to help Pierce Charles
With so many key players already leaving in the last few months, Sheffield Wednesday can’t really afford to lose any more.
On that front, it was mentioned that they have placed an £8m valuation on their goalkeeper.
Now, The Star report that Wednesday are trying to bring in a new goalkeeper coach.
Andy Quy has been identified as an option following his exit from League One club Huddersfield Town earlier this year.
Should he arrive at Hillsborough, it’s said that Quy will be tasked with overseeing the continued development of Charles.

What Henrik Pedersen said about Pierce Charles leaving Sheffield Wednesday
Charles was in top form over the weekend when Sheffield Wednesday lost to Leicester City.
But speaking last week, as quoted by The Star, manager Henrik Pedersen admitted the player’s future was out of his control.
He said: “It’s more tricky than something I control.
“In the end, the chairman is the owner of the club and in the end he will decide. I can tell him my wishes and of course I have a big, big wish that Pierce can stay – he’s a fantastic goalkeeper and a fantastic human and he is a big part of how we want to play football in the future of Sheffield Wednesday.
“Of course I will do all I can for him to stay at the club.”
