Sheffield Wednesday are having a tumultuous off-season.
After previously telling players he would be leaving, Danny Rohl took charge of training on Monday and he looks set to remain as the Owls’ manager for now.
Meanwhile, Dejphon Chansiri has £4m worth of footballing debts, including a bill that he still needs to pay to Hull City. One business expert has slammed the club for the takeover process and they remain in limbo.
Player wages do look to have been paid, however, and that will ease some tension. Yet, Djeidi Gassama’s move to Rangers has been confirmed and Sheffield Wednesday fans are not happy for one reason.

Sheffield Wednesday fans are fuming after Djeidi Gassama’s departure
In what has been a very much unkept secret, Gassama has finally joined the Scottish giants. According to Sky Sports, Russell Martin’s side have paid £2.2m for the winger who joined the Owls in 2023.

However, the relatively small fee is a major issue for supporters of Sheffield Wednesday, and they have taken to social media to vent their frustrations, with Chansiri the target of that anger.
A second fan wrote: “Thanks Gas Man, what a talent and one of the true bright sparks of the last 20 years to watch at Hillsborough wish you nothing but the best. Chansiri just do us all a favour and sell the club the way it’s been run over the last 10 years is an utter disgrace.”
While another said: “Chansiri’s going nowhere. Selling what he can to pay the outstanding wages and taxes, he’ll be here next season.”
“Selling the top asset for your constant mistakes. Sell the club! You’re a joke,” a fourth exclaimed.
As a Rangers fan offered their support: “Such a shame what’s happening to your club. Hope this fee gets used wisely and a change of ownership is not too far away. Excited to see this young man step up and play on the European stage. Hope he’s as talented as made out to be.”

Djeidi Gassama has a bright future
Gassama scored seven goals in 43 Championship appearances for the Owls last season, and it was clear to see the talent that Sheffield Wednesday had on their hands.
He was superb against Derby County on New Year’s Day, and he caused the Rams a multitude of problems with his pace. The 21-year-old was rewarded with a goal on that day, and he will be a huge loss.
The Owls have a hatful of problems right now and losing Gassama will only add to that long list. With the club under a three-window transfer ban, replacing him will be impossible.
