Details of Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri’s business ventures have emerged, revealing one major flaw for the club.

Sheffield Wednesday have suffered in recent months as Dejphon Chansiri continues to lose any support he had in the fanbase.

The summer saw a catalogue of difficulties spring up for the club, whether it was the closure of the North Stand or the mass departure of players.

Intentions have continued to increase in S6, with former members of staff beginning to speak up on the challenges that Chansiri has sparked.

Chris Powell previously spoke negatively about Chansiri, and that has been backed up as Josh Windass offered a scolding verdict of the Sheffield Wednesday owner.

A dire situation is unfolding at Hillsborough Stadium, and that has just heightened as details behind Chansiri’s business empire have surfaced.

Summary of Dejphon Chansiri business ventures point to Sheffield Wednesday issues

In a revealing report shared by the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust, extra details into Dejphon Chansiri’s business have been revealed, which show parallels with the club’s current situation.

Chansiri, who has been found to be listed as a director in 19 active Thai companies which span to varying industries, has been found to be losing money in several of his businesses.

The report states that the ‘total consolidated revenue and profitability are low, considering the number of businesses’.

It also concludes that ‘some firms are engaged in non-operational or dormant-looking activities (e.g., minimal revenue with relatively high registered capital).’

The accumulation of uncertainties in his business ventures have, therefore, raised questions over the ‘source and sustainability of Chansiri’s personal wealth’, with the report describing it as ‘particularly relevant’ compared to the situation at Sheffield Wednesday.

New report could put extra pressure on Dejphon Chansiri

The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust has been committed to putting extra pressure on Dejphon Chansiri so far this season, predominantly in the form of protests at both home and away games.

Because of Chansiri’s absence at games, it is unknown if this will have any form of impact on him, but as a businessman, the release of his various ventures will certainly sting.

It paints a stark comparison to when Chansiri continued to respond to Sheffield Wednesday fans by asking if they own a business before even listening to their question; it is now clear that he has had his own troubles.

As Sheffield Wednesday fans continue to pressure Chansiri to sell the club, there will be hope that this latest update can help them towards that goal.
