Sheffield Wednesday’s Bailey Cadamarteri has scored his first senior goal for Jamaica, and after celebrating his achievement, Owls fans immediately thought of what Dejphon Chansiri was thinking.
The 20-year-old netted against Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday night in his country’s World Cup Qualifiers, with the Reggae Boyz winning 2-0 courtesy of his and Jon Russell’s goals.
He made his international debut in the 4-0 demolition of Bermuda last week, and will be hoping to have made a big impression on Steve McClaren ahead of the World Cup next summer.
But Wednesday fans think controversial owner Chansiri will be rubbing his hands with glee now that Cadamarteri has the potential to shine on the world stage.

Sheffield Wednesday fans think Dejphon Chansiri will slap huge price tag on Bailey Cadamarteri after Jamaica goal
Cadamarteri has been with Wednesday for 11 years, making his senior debut in 2022. That means if he was to be sold, the Owls would receive pure profit, given he came through the academy.
Wednesdayites on social media think that their owner will be thinking about exactly that now, especially after he scored an equaliser at Wrexham before the break, too.
“That’s his value doubled,” one fan wrote on X.
“Chansiri’s just slapped another couple of million onto his asking price,” another said.
Another hoped that the youngster himself would benefit from his Jamaica goal, writing: “Hopefully he’s got a big international goal pay rise clause in his contract!”
Sheffield Wednesday squad depth issue could rear its head soon
With Wednesday’s squad incredibly thin following numerous player departures during a turbulent summer under Dejphon Chansiri, it’s likely Cadamarteri will need to come straight into the starting XI against Bristol City.
Tunisia and Owls star Yan Valery will also likely need to be brought back into action immediately.
Barry Bannan is vital to Wednesday staying afloat this season, as well as senior head Jamal Lowe.
Henrik Pedersen will be hoping his players can stay as fit as possible for as long as possible, but Pierce Charles’ injury shows things could quickly unravel.
