EFL Analysis can confirm that Southampton star Tyler Dibling is ‘open’ to the Everton move and that David Moyes’ side are set to continue their pursuit after having an initial £27m bid rejected.
The 2025/26 Championship campaign kicks off for Southampton in just over a week with their hosting of Wrexham on the opening weekend.
Will Still will take to the St Mary’s dugout for the first time in the Championship, but the summer transfer window will play a big part in the side he chooses for his first Saints starting XI in the second tier.
With the season fast approaching, Atletico Madrid are tracking Mateus Fernandes, with the in-demand midfielder also attracting vast attention in the Premier League.
Another Saints star wanted in the top flight is Tyler Dibling, and EFL Analysis can reveal the new asking price Southampton have set for the right-winger.

Southampton set new asking price for Tyler Dibling after Everton bid rejected
After his breakout campaign in the Premier League for Southampton, 19-year-old Dibling has been the subject of lofty transfer interest throughout the summer window.
With the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham all admiring the Saints starlet, Southampton value Dibling at £50m, but may struggle to court such a sum following relegation from the top flight.
As a result, EFL Analysis understands, thanks to information from our Chief Football correspondent, Graeme Bailey, that Southampton have set a new asking price for Dibling.
Also, we understand that Everton are set to return with another offer after a bid in the region of £27million was rejected.
Bailey explained: “Everton like a number of Championship players and I think we could see a couple or more arrive, one of which they really want is Tyler Dibling.
| Key statistic | Tyler Dibling in 2024/25 (Premier League) | Tyler Dibling in 2024/25 (all competitions) |

“Dibling I am told is open to the prospect of a move to Merseyside – although he has been impressed with Will Still.
“Southampton once asked for £100million, but I am told that £40million will get the deal done. Everton have had one offer rejected, but they are ready to come back – David Moyes is pushing for this one. “
Dibling’s talent is undeniable, but previous comments from one pundit suggest that the England youth international may be better off staying at Southampton for another season.

Will Still must convince Tyler Dibling to stay at Southampton this summer
Evidently, the allure of top flight football, wages and status will be an exciting proposition for Dibling, but it may be a jump too soon for the youngster.
At 19-years-old, the most important element for Dibling’s development is game time, which would be more guaranteed at Southampton than Everton, in an extremely competitive and physically demanding league.
Former Liverpool midfielder and pundit Danny Murphy told TalkSport earlier this summer that Dibling ‘hated’ a previous spell at a Premier League club, when he was part of the Chelsea academy from July to September in 2022.
Murphy said: “Well, I think I’m right in saying that the lad now they’re talking about 100 million at Southampton, Tyler Dibling, I think he went to Chelsea for a brief time and hated it. He wanted to go back home.”
With the upcoming campaign having the potential to be the best Championship season yet, Dibling would get the opportunity to showcase and hone his attacking talents under a head coach in Still, who is well-regarded after his time in France for developing young players.
Surely, that would be a better proposition for the electric winger than sitting on the Toffees’ bench.
