Millwall and Middlesbrough will clash in a 3pm Championship kick-off on Saturday, August 16.

Middlesbrough got their 2025/26 campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 win over Swansea City.

The Lions enjoyed similar success on the opening weekend, besting a Norwich City side who have spent a fair bit this summer.

Millwall then beat Newport County in the Carabao Cup in midweek, with Boro suffering a shock loss to Doncaster Rovers.

Both sides were in play-off contention at the end of 2024/25, and a close game is expected this weekend.

Millwall vs Middlesbrough predicted

After losing to Doncaster, Middlesbrough have made another signing this week.

Millwall, meanwhile, have already signed Josh Coburn from Boro permanently after a loan stint last term.

And it’s Coburn’s new club who are the most likely to come out on top in gameweek two.

Opta have predicted every Championship fixture taking place this week, and their supercomputer expects a home victory at The Den.

Millwall have a 45 percent chance of winning on Saturday, while Rob Edwards’ side are given a 28.2 percent chance of taking three points back to Teesside.
