Hull City defender Brandon Williams is set for a period of absence, with the reasons finally revealed after he missed the clash against Swansea City.
Hull City drew 2-2 with Swansea City at the weekend, with Sergej Jakirovic’s side picking up a point in the final stages of the game, courtesy of a late goal by John Egan.
Ahead of the weekend, Hull City boss Jakirovic was handed a significant boost, with a number of players returning from injury, including Enis Destan, while Mo Belloumi improved with his fitness.
However, Hull City were surprisingly without new signing Brandon Williams for the trip to South Wales, with the former Man United man being left out of the squad.
While his absence initially raised eyebrows, there has been clarity given as to why he was not with the squad.

Brandon Williams set to miss Southampton clash after concussion
It has been revealed, via Hull Live, that Hull City defender Brandon Williams is set to miss Hull City’s clash with Southampton on Saturday afternoon under the strict concussion protocols.
The former Man United full-back suffered a setback last week in training, which saw him sustain a head injury that put him out of action for the trip to Swansea City.
Under the protocols for the concussion, Williams must now wait for a minimum of 12 days before he can return to training and playing for Hull City, and must be handed a green light by doctors before he is able to do so.
While Williams’ absence will be a blow for the weekend ahead for Jakirovic, Ryan Giles has seen success at full-back so far this season, while the returning captain, Lewie Coyle, can also play as a makeshift left-back.

Sergej Jakirovic will be optimistic despite difficult Hull City start
On the surface, it would appear that Hull City have faced difficulties this season, having notched five points in as many games, which puts them at 20th in the table.
However, there are plenty of positive signs that suggest that their form will soon pick up.
The attacking improvements have been enormous under the stewardship of Sergej Jakirovic, which, of course, would not have been possible without the blockbuster signing of Oli McBurnie this summer.
There are defensive concerns that need to be addressed, with Hull City struggling when the opposition generates a chance, but many things point towards a successful season for the Tigers, which would be survival in the Championship.
