FC26 is set to be released next week, and Championship fans will be excited to get their hands on the game and look to play as their favourite players from their club.

The video game has now released the ratings of all the players in the game, with players and fans alike excited to see them ahead of its release.

Both players and fans want to be able to boast about the ratings despite not having a significant impact on football in the real world.

EFL Analysis brings you the top 10 rated players in the Championship according to FC26 for the upcoming 2025/26 Championship season.

Honourable Mentions

There are a total of 16 Championship players rated between 75 and 77, meaning that six of the players have had to be mentioned outside the top 10.

These six players all have a rating of 75 and are playing for either Ipswich Town or Leicester City, two sides that have recently been relegated to the Championship from the Premier League.

The three Leicester players include Boubakary Soumaré, Victor Kristiansen and Stephy Mavididi.

Meanwhile, the three Ipswich players include their club captain Dara O’Shea, Jaden Philogene and Jens-Lys Cajuste.

10. Kyogo Furuhashi – Birmingham City – 75

The Japanese striker only recently joined Birmingham City, as he moved from Rennes this summer to add some quality to the newly promoted Championship side.

Furuhashi is the third-highest-rated Birmingham player in FC26 for the upcoming season, with this coming from his previous seasons while at Celtic.

While he is yet to score for Birmingham this season, he has demonstrated at previous clubs that he does know where the goal is; however, he has demonstrated his other strengths while at the Blues, as he is a tireless worker and relentless presser, which adds a lot to the club.

9. Josh Sargent – Norwich City – 75

Arguably the best player rated at 75 in the Championship from the eight players that FC26 selected at this rating for the new game.

Josh Sargent has shown season after season that he knows where the goal is and is currently ranked as the joint top scorer in the Championship so far this campaign.

He has scored five goals in the opening five matches of the season and is seen by many fans as the most important player in the Norwich City squad.

8. Chuba Akpom – Ipswich Town – 76

The first player to enter the list with a rating of 76, and the first of three Ipswich Town players viewed to be of a similar ability by FC26.

Chuba Akpom has joined Ipswich Town this season from Ajax to attempt to try and return the Tractor Boys to the Premier League.

Akpom has yet to score for Ipswich since making the return to English football in these three Championship appearances for the Tractor Boys; fans will hope he finds the net soon so they can achieve their ambitions.

7. Marvin Ducksch – Birmingham City – 76

The German striker has recently joined Birmingham City, making the move to England this summer as he left Werder Bremen.

Marvin Ducksch has yet to score this season in his two appearances; however, it must be remembered that Jay Stansfield has performed so well so far, keeping him out of the lineup.

There will be a hope he finds the net soon so he can get some confidence to help Birmingham City fight for promotion.

6. Azor Matusiwa – Ipswich Town – 76

Azor Matusiwa was brought in by Ipswich Town to replace their captain, Sam Morsy, and he has spoken about how he wishes to help Ipswich play in the Premier League.

The summer signing impressed for Rennes last season, earning him the move to the Championship side.

He has already demonstrated his quality at Ipswich and why he will be important as he looks to protect the Ipswich defence and cut out danger.

5. Abdul Fatawu – Leicester City – 76

Abdul Fatawu has continued on his fine form in the Championship after a season of struggling in the Premier League with Leicester City.

The 23-year-old has already scored two goals and provided an assist in the Championship this season and has been an important piece of Leicester’s side.

Fatawu is viewed as the best Leicester City player in the game, and with his early-season performances, it is easy to see why EA Sports thinks this.

4. Leif Davis – Ipswich Town – 76

The attacking full-back is viewed by FC26 as the best Ipswich Town player in the game with his rating of 76.

Leif Davis has demonstrated his quality in the Championship going forward, being a key piece of Kieran McKenna’s tactical approach.

While he may have found things tough at times in the Premier League alongside his Ipswich teammates, he has made an encouraging return to the Championship, demonstrating exactly why he is so highly rated in the game.

3. Michael Cooper – Sheffield United – 76

The highest-rated Championship goalkeeper in FC26 is Michael Cooper, as he has been given a rating of 76.

Cooper impressed for Sheffield United last season, as he was key to the club as they came within a whisker of being promoted from the Championship.

While he has struggled this campaign, the whole Sheffield United squad have found form hard to come by, and so Chris Wilder has returned to the club to fix this.

2. Bright Osayi-Samuel – Birmingham City – 76

The player ranked highest of all the players rated 76 according to FC26, with Osayi-Samuel being ranked as the best Birmingham City squad member.

Osayi-Samuel has struggled in front of goal for Birmingham City this season, as he is yet to register a Championship goal or assist.

The winger joined from Fenerbahçe this summer, returning to English football, having previously had a spell with QPR.

1. Gustavo Hamer – Sheffield United – 76

There may be no surprises that the best-ranked Championship player in FC26 is the player that was voted as the division’s player of the season last campaign.

Gustavo Hamer has not made a fantastic start to the season with Sheffield United; however, with the return of Chris Wilder, he may be hopeful his form can also change too.

The Brazilian previously stated that he was not impressed by Ruben Selles; however, he may look to reignite his form now the Spaniard has departed the club.
