After five games without a win, West Brom got back on track this weekend, and Tony Mowbray clearly wants to keep that winning feeling going for the rest of the campaign.
Just a couple of weeks ago, West Brom looked nailed on to secure a play-off finish, with Tony Mowbray getting the Baggies well-organised at the back and looking stronger in attack.
However, draws against Burnley and Hull in March preceded a run of three straight defeats for Mowbray, with Norwich, Sunderland, and Bristol City all snatching three points from the Baggies.
Losing to fellow play-off contenders is always going to make the task more difficult, but after beating Watford 2-1 at the weekend, the West Brom boss is finally seeing signs of life in his team.

Tony Mowbray has big expectations for final four games
Speaking to the club’s media channels after the win on Saturday, Mowbray explained how he saw a different side to his team on the day, with plenty of room for improvement despite picking up the three points.
“That win was just the first one ticked off, we’ve talked in the week about trying to win all five if we can but it wasn’t a team I really recognised today. I was speaking to my analysts after the game, we only had 39% of the ball when in every other game we’ve had close to 60%.
“I’ve just said to the players, maybe on some days we have to give the ball up a little bit, not have as much domination of the game but get bigger chances because there is space to run in behind. It’s food for though moving forward really for me.”

Asked whether the win could spearhead a successful final run-in for West Brom that would cement their position in the Championship play-off places, he said: “I hope so. My words are cheap they don’t mean anything, we have to do it on the grass.
“The players have to put the ball in the back of the net, they have to compete for every tackle, every header, and I see them doing that, I feel their personality in the dressing room, their desire to win.
“So I wouldn’t question that, look, football is mad, it’s a crazy league, bottom can beat top, we just need a few things to break our way that we haven’t been having recently and we can win every game.
“I genuinely feel that, with the quality of the team, the potential is to win every game and yet as we’ve proven over the last 10 days we can lose as well.”
Can West Brom get back in the play-offs?
West Brom certainly have enough quality to turn things around from here and seal a play-off place.
The players knew things were going wrong, but they offered up exactly the reaction they needed to at the weekend, and they now have to build on that going into the final four matches.

A supercomputer predicted West Brom and Bristol City would claim the final places in the top six, but if Coventry beat Hull City tonight, then that task will get a whole lot more difficult for the Baggies.
That clash between West Brom and Coventry at the CBS Arena on Friday is a real six-pointer, and you have to imagine that whoever wins that one will surely end up in the play-offs.
The only problem is, even if they do make it, West Brom’s play-off record is so bad that no one can really expect them to succeed. But, perhaps Tony Mowbray can be the one to stop the rot in that respect?
