Birmingham City have dominated League One in 2024/25, and Troy Deeney is already backing one player to reach the Premier League.
Birmingham City suffered their first-ever relegation to League One since it was established in the 2023/24 season.
Tom Brady sent a message to Birmingham fans following that relegation, promising they would achieve big things in the future.
Fast forward to the back end of 2024/25, the Blues have already won the League One title at a canter and had a huge chance to win their first piece of silverware for over a decade on April 13.
Birmingham faced Peterborough United in the EFL Trophy final on Sunday, aiming to pick up a historic double.
The final was broadcast live on Sky Sports, with former Birmingham ace Troy Deeney among those covering the match.

Troy Deeney praises Birmingham City star Jay Stanfield
Brady sent a message to Birmingham ahead of the clash, while Deeney was waxing lyrical about one of the Midlands outfit’s players.
The Blues spent a lot over the summer, including breaking the League One transfer record to sign Jay Stansfield from Fulham.
Stanfsfield has excelled in the third tier, as most expected, but Deeney is now predicting the club’s record signing to make it in the Premier League.
Speaking live on Sky Sports during coverage of the final, Deeney said: “He’s way too good for the level. He’s probably too good for the Championship level if I’m being totally honest.
“But I think he’s got through this season playing with the handbrake on. It sounds really mental when he’s scored like 30 goals, is it? Something silly like that.”
He added: “A player of huge quality, not only for this season but for the next two or three seasons hopefully, for Birmingham.”

How many goals has Jay Stansfield scored for Birmingham City
While Deeney was slightly off regarding Stansfield’s goal tally in 2024/25, he’s still had a very good season.
Despite Birmingham playing two fewer games than most teams in League One right now, the forward is the joint-second top scorer with 18.
He also had four in four EFL Trophy fixtures before Saturday and had scored one in one League Cup appearance.
With a place in the Championship now secure, big things will be expected of Stansfield once 2025/26 rolls around.
