With Birmingham City in action later today in the Vertu Trophy final, the club’s superstar owner, Tom Brady, has sent a rousing message to the players.
It’s been a huge week for Birmingham City already, with the club securing promotion back to the Championship on Tuesday night, before sealing the League One title this weekend without even kicking a ball.
They’re in cup action today, though, with Birmingham’s route to the EFL Trophy final all leading to this game against Peterborough United at Wembley.
The whole club has been eager to remind everyone that the job isn’t finished yet, and that this good season can become a great one with another victory here. And, it can be a historic achievement for Birmingham if they do the double.

What has Tom Brady told Birmingham City players ahead of Vertu Trophy final?
Everyone knows how important, and how valuable winning the Vertu Trophy can be for Birmingham as they look to continue their dominance in the EFL.
And now, Tom Brady, one of the club’s owners, has shared a big message with the squad ahead of the Wembley showdown.
Taking to social media with an inspiring video, Brady said: “There’s a moment in every player’s journey when everything, all the sacrifices, pain and endless hours come down to one, final opportunity.
“So Blues, this is your time. You’ve earned it, now go make it count.
“Winning a trophy, it’s more than just a prize. It’s the culmination of a journey. This is your moment, so take it. Keep right on.”
Birmingham are heavy favourites to defeat Peterborough, who are hoping to make history themselves by retaining the EFL Trophy.

Tom Brady will be at Wembley to see Birmingham try and make history
Birmingham will join an illustrious list of teams to do the EFL Trophy and promotion double; a list they are actually already on after the famous victory back in the 1994/95 season.
Tom Brady has played a key role in Birmingham’s success already this season. Despite only having a minority stake in the club, it is thought his ambassadorial influence and the advice he gives to the team and coaching staff is invaluable.
Now, he will be hoping his competitive spirit and inspiring words have the right effect going into the game at Wembley. It is thought Brady will be at Wembley to watch the game, and he will be desperate to see the team he has invested time and money into get another taste of success after the disappointment of relegation last year.
Still, let’s not forget the great job Chris Davies has done in getting this expensive team working together and pulling in the right direction since he took over in the summer. If he can complete this league and cup double, it’s likely the streets of Birmingham will be singing his name rather than Brady’s, we’re sure.
