Blackburn Rovers have got off to the worst start possible this season, as they have lost every competitive game they have played this campaign in both the Championship and Carabao Cup.
The Lancashire club were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Bradford City after they lost 2-1 at Ewood Park, while they lost their opening game of the Championship season to West Brom.
Valerien Ismael and Blackburn will be incredibly disappointed with how they lost their latest match, as Birmingham City scored twice in additional time to win 2-1 at Ewood Park.
Blackburn have been busy in the transfer market with players incoming and outgoing; however, fans seem to be frustrated at the business that has been done, as they lost Callum Brittain to Middlesbrough and are also losing players for free, including Tyrhys Dolan to Espanyol.
The club seem to be stuck in a transfer saga now with the future of Lewis Travis, who appears to be on the way to Derby County; however, Ismael has admitted that Blackburn need to be ‘creative’ with their future business.
Blackburn’s plans on being ‘creative’ in the transfer market
Valerien Ismael has admitted to the Lancashire Telegraph that Blackburn Rovers will need to be ‘creative’ with their transfer plans before the closure of the summer window.
It has been said Blackburn will look to get rid of Exaucé Mafoumbi in order to free up an ESC slot, which would help the club in their aim to recruit first-team quality players.
Blackburn have been linked with both Moussa Baradji and Koji Miyoshi, who would require this slot to be registered, with the former being seen as a potential replacement for Lewis Travis.

Should Blackburn opt to use this slot to sign Baradji, who they had attempted to bring to the club earlier in the window, it means they will need to find a winger who can be registered as a British player or bring in someone who meets the GBE criteria.
Ismael said: “If we have to do something, we will deal with it. We will take the right decision for us.
“I think that we are aligned, and we know exactly what we want to do. Yes, it’s clear with the rules. You have to be creative and to find solutions to get the player you want.”

Potential need for further defensive cover
There has been an expectation that Blackburn would sign another central defender to give them enough cover for the upcoming campaign; however, it may not have been essential.
Yet, this may have changed following the latest update on the future of Dominic Hyam.
Blackburn Rovers and their fans do not want to lose any further players for free at the end of their contract, and Hyam has failed to come to an agreement with the club about a new deal.
His contract expires next summer, and so we may see Blackburn attempt to find another club for him to cash in on the central defender, forcing them into making further acquisitions at the back.
